Railway Terrace depot - 6 months on
Railway Terrace depot - 6 months on
This depot has been in use since Sept last year and the toilet facilities still do not have hot water nor are there plans to provide any. You would have thought hot water wouldn't be too much to expect but it kind of sums up how much both SL and DPTI value their bus drivers.
Re: Railway Terrace depot - 6 months on
Update: The depot at Railway Terrace has been in use for around 9 months now.
The only food/drink outlets nearby are across the road and consist of a Subway, an overpriced coffee shop or the café in Bunnings.
The facilities provided for drivers in the depot are a kettle, a microwave, a fridge and a vending machine that dispenses a very limited selection of soft drinks and snacks.
There is still no hot drink vending machine.
Last week there was no soap in the toilets.
The toilets still do not have hot water
Who is responsible for running this joke of a facility?
To the person who is, if it were you using them would find them acceptable? If not why do you think it’s ok for the drivers? Or is it a case of out of sight, out of mind with you sitting behind your desk somewhere and being completely disinterested? Or is it just because it does not affect you personally?

The facility at Railway Tce is DPTI owned; and made available to the contractors as specified in the contracts.
The staff toilets at Paradise have no hot water either; I suspect that there may be other staff toilet facilities that do not have hot water available.

When I went past today I saw plenty of Southlink and Busways buses, but no Torrens Transit Edinburgh North buses?
Are they not using the facility?

Surely Torrens buses would use the Torrens Transit depot a few hundred metres down the road?
Re: Railway Terrace depot - 6 months on
Or Clarendon St even.. seen a few Edinburgh North buses sitting there during the day
Re: Railway Terrace depot - 6 months on
I guess they have to make budget cuts elsewhere now that the route changes didnt go ahead.

Some Torrens shifts (across a few depots) do have meal breaks scheduled at the Railway Tce meal facility. Although some drivers might choose to go to Mile End or Clarendon St instead.
