Are these late evening closures? As yet there are no notices on AdMet website or DPTI media.jibb wrote:There will be partial shutdown of rail lines as follows;-

Still nothing about it on the Adelaide Metro website, I can only assume next weeks shutdown has been postponed?

What is the usual state of play with larger Adelaide rail replacements these days? Just the Admet operators or do privates also play a role?

Gawler line is typically run by Southlink; my observations have shown them to tend to have additional capacity as coaches during weekday peak periods.

Re: Rail closures-March-April
According to a driver with one of the current companies Torrens Transit will be doing Rail Sub Substitute services?
Will be interesting t see if this occurs. Looks like Torrens Transit is the " flavour of the month" with the Minister and DPTI.

Re: Rail closures-March-April
TT have performed rail replacement services on the Gawler line on the odd occasion.
I think there was a scenario in 2018 where Mile End and Newton provided some services, with at least one being done by Morphettville on one occasion (going by personal observations and comments).

Re: Rail closures-March-April
Emergency rail is free game; it's a matter of who can provide the resources; and i have had reports of Torrens doing Seaford and Gawler emergency substitutes; however planned shutdowns typically to the service provider who is allocated it as part of their contract; Gawler subs are part of the Outer North contract (Currently Southlink)
