Adelaide Metro has a new survey on their website for a trial of mobile ticketing as another means of fare validation. What is your opinion if we started introducing mobile ticketing and would it cause any issues?

Other places have gone over to it. Don't need to carry a card, people always carry their phone these days.

Another card you wouldn't have to carry in your pocket or wallet and don't need to pay the $5 for a new card if lost

So how would a mobile phone be checked for ticket validation? (Not that there are any ticket checks on buses anyway - AdMet are only interested in trains and trams).

It's called NFC, like how Apple Pay, Android Pay, Comm Bank Tap & Pay and et al. replacing physical bank cards.

Actually Torrens still do ticket checks on some routes. I've had mine checked
