[June 2015] SA transport observations
June is typically a quiet month; and there's nothing that I can think of on the horizon to mention. Adelaide Oval football transport services continue to operate effectively; transporting the crowds to and from the game.
Please post your Adelaide Metro (and its service providers) observations that wouldn't seem to warrant their own thread here!

This bus is in service today on the O-Bahn ,so couldn't have been much wrong with it!Diesel_MAN wrote:Black smoke was coming out of the back of 1125 bus while it was doing a G40 today.

Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
Saw at about 1:00pm today bus 3375 in Mile End depot. Does anyone know what a Southlink bus is doing in a Torrens depot?
First person on 822, 865 (2016 re-route).
Last person on 164, 867, 868

Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
There is usually 2 rows of Hills Southlink buses that layover between peaks on weekdays at Mile End Depot.
This has been standard practice for a number of years now.

I have also seen Southlink Lonsdale buses parked in Mile End depot. From memory the practice started in about 2011.

NL202 2230 is doing the 2015 228 tonight. I'd be very surprised if there aren't any standing passengers.
Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
Adelaide Metro have advised on their Facebook page that they have been notified by the Rail,Tram and Bus Union that tram operators at Glengowrie tram depot will hold a stopwork meeting next Thursday(11th June) to discuss Enterprise Bargaining issues.
This will result in trams being off the road between 10am and 2pm.
Adelaide Metro will be organizing "substitute bus services" to cover this closure.

Transit times is showing the last M44 to Marion as being 1107 bus. Is this a sign that it's been moved to Morphettville?

Could be a sign that its being borrowed by Morphettville due to a bus needing to be changed over...
You got a real flash bus, but my one's flash one, eh

Could've been a St Agnes driver covering part (or all) of a Morphettville shift.
Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
Highly unlikely at that time of the night considering it didn't get to Marion until 1244am.

Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
Also regarding the opening post to this thread, this could be the last month of 2000 class jumbo operations, depending on the deliveries of new 4000 class sets.
Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
A very unusual bus doing 203 route to the City tonight, LCB MAN NL202 264 was the bus being used.
These buses normally are not used at night, and certainly not at weekends? Maybe one of St Agnes drivers likes driving these vehicles and managed to convince depot management to let him take it out.

Football was on, so more buses would have been needed to be used...

Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
3269 of all thing was doing the 861s today from first run until mid afternoon. I haven't seen this out on a weekend for longer than I can remember.
It sounded pretty healthy too for a 15-16 year old low floor Scania, unlike it's newer sister 3314 which I went on today, which I think could have a worn/knackered diff.

Torrens Transit did the "Tram Substitute services" today.

The 'Not' in 'Not in Service' on 2814's front desto was flickering a lot today. Interesting that only a part of the display was flickering as opposed to the whole desto.

This mornings 0603 Gawler Central train (ex Adelaide) was a four car pox box set; one of the last two jumbo sets' retirement may have recently occurred.

Torrens Transit doing train subs between Woodville and city for several hours this morning due to train/pedestrian accident on Grange/Outer Hbr line between Bowden and. Croydon.
Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
At lunchtime a 4-car was stabled at ARS where the jumbo normally lays over. However both 4-car jumbo sets were at Dry Creek, one in the cleaning road and the other in the servicing shed., so it looks as if they are both still in service.thedom wrote:This mornings 0603 Gawler Central train (ex Adelaide) was a four car pox box set; one of the last two jumbo sets' retirement may have recently occurred.
The last 3-car set in service (with one STA trailer) is now stabled beside all the other withdrawn sets at the SE end of the depot.

Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
Transit Times is showing that the last M44 to Marion is being operated by 1150, which is a St Agnes bus. Is there some sort of rotation going between Morphettville and St Agnes in regards to the O'bahn buses? Seems weird to me.
Re: [June 2015] SA transport observations
Probably a last minute swap for one of 1101-1106.
