Re: [Sep/Oct 2018] SA Transport observations
Route 97A which runs between the old RAH and the new RAH will cease next Friday. The route is covered by the new Tram service now running between the 2 locations.

Re: [Sep/Oct 2018] SA Transport observations
There only ever seemed to be one or two passengers on board any given 97A, so it's good that they've finally decided to stop running that route. It seemed to be a waste of money.jibb wrote:Route 97A which runs between the old RAH and the new RAH will cease next Friday. The route is covered by the new Tram service now running between the 2 locations.

I see the layover zone in Sir Edwin Smith Drive has now been reduced to just the northern side. Pretty useless imho as it's much harder to turn left from Sir Edwin into Kermode St and then into KWR than it is to turn right from KWR into Kermode St and then into Sir Edwin.

According to the fleet lists, 1620 has been withdrawn. Does Newton have Adblue facilities to accommodate the new Scanias?

Re: [Sep/Oct 2018] SA Transport observations
Newton has a drum of Adblue with hand operated pump. Scanias can last at least 3 long days before needing Adblue topup: a lot longer than the Ivecos. It only took a day to install 2 proper overhead Adblue facilities at Port so not a big deal. All depots are going to need them eventually.

1979 and 1983 are also in service, I'd gather most if not all of these recent new deliveries would be in service by now.

Which depot is 1983 operating from? These almost sound like Sydney numbers to me, given that 1981 and onward aren't second hand.
Re: [Sep/Oct 2018] SA Transport observations
All Torrens Transit's new Bustech deliveries are based at their Mile End Depot, but of course can now be found on any TT route(bar the O-Bahn).
Re: [Sep/Oct 2018] SA Transport observations
Fleet Lists have been updated tonight to give details of new Bustech arrivals at Mile End.

I saw 1829 yesterday and noticed that it's not O-Bahn equipped? Seems strange that 1819-1828 are now equipped as have been 1830-1832. I wonder if this was an oversight or there's another reason.

Re: [Sep/Oct 2018] SA Transport observations
I was told that it was never Torrens Transit's intention to equip 1829 for O-Bahn duties, so it remains the odd one at Morphettville Depot!Route 506 wrote:I saw 1829 yesterday and noticed that it's not O-Bahn equipped? Assuming there are no bus changes between now and the end of service, bus 1901 will be the last bus to operate a 97A service.jibb wrote:Route 97A which runs between the old RAH and the new RAH will cease next Friday. The route is covered by the new Tram service now running between the 2 locations.

The layover zone in Sir Edwin Smith Avenue has officially been withdrawn and both sides have reverted to car parking. Buses can now layover on the Eastern side of King William Road between Pennington Terrace and Sir Edwin Smith Ave. Still a long walk to the nearest toilet so still not that good.
