You mean the Ansett flying boat base Rose bay and I didn`t think they had a TD4 Leyland Titan about that time.

Correct. As the original source had it:
Sydney, NSW. 1945-09-16. members of 8th Division, ex-POWs of the Japanese, arrived at Rose Bay from Singapore by Catalina flying boats. Major General E. C. P. Plant, general officer commanding, NSW lines of communication area and a huge crowd welcomed them. from the flying base the men travelled in buses to 113rd general hospital for their medical examination. Shown, the cheering crowds that lined the bus route.

OK, well, I don't have a photo (at least of anything interesting or recognisable). But ages ago I did talk to Leopard1543 about how he should use the following photo for "Where Is It". He said would like to use it but he was unable to post it here. So I will post it. If there is a problem I will withdraw it:

Image

The caption that goes with the photo is "A freshly overhauled 2018 is seen en route at Bondi bound for the North Bondi terminus, May, 1986", but where?

boronia certainly ought to know at least.

I have no idea how fotopic generates these links but the image appears to be dead today. I'll attach it here.
2018.jpg
But seeing as today is day 5 and no one is interested, I'll post the answer anyway: 2018 is on Glenayr Ave, North Bondi. All outbound 389s used to use the full length of Glenayr Ave through Bondi Beach and North Bondi. Now all services use Mitchell Street in North Bondi (Albion's first guess) instead.

So, open floor.

Chalmers Street, (Surry Hills, Redfern or Strawberry Hills - whichever is the correct suburb or location) near corner of Cleveland Street, outside Cleveland Street Intensive English School and just about 50 metres from STA Corporate Office.
