Guess the kids were on some sort of trip to something at (or near) the Hyperdome (maybe movies at the cinemas or something) and the buses were laying over until the time came to pick the students up and take them back to school...

brisbanetransport.info has a Volvo B8RLE (2801) listed at the Workshops. I am curious as to whether it is a rigid or a tag axle.

According to the Brisbane City Council website, there are four of these buses to be delivered in late 2016:

https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/about-c ... al-council

Does this mean that the Council is moving from B7's to B8's? If so, does anyone know how many more B7's will be built?

Noted 1858 and 2255 had new wraps today celebrating 90 years on Brisbane Transport.

2255's wrap is in the format of the original Cityxpress livery.

According to media this morning 1980 "exploded" on Buedesert road at 9am. Driver has reportably been killed.

Edit: More info has come to hand but I'm not going to speculate like the media are.

This is probably the most sickening attack on a driver of the many across Australia in recent times and it's a growing trend. It really is time to isolate the driver like a tram driver and board passengers through all the doors, given that electronic/pre-paid fare collection is universal across of Australia in urban operations and there is no need for interaction with the drivers.

Perspex screens are probably the best as you can still get to the driver through an open grille.

Changes to all Brisbane Transport services from 12 December.

Key points:

- some buses re-routed in the CBD due to the Queen's Wharf development
- time changes for all routes
- stop changes at Garden City
- all timetables now in the green TransLink format
- fare zones on timetables show the simplified 9 January zones

Noticed a few BT buses from W and C getting around with redesigned desto's. The route numbers have been changed to a much larger font with the details slimmed down a fair bit. Not sure if rolling out across the whole fleet but very helpful to pax by the looks. Very legible.

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred at Carina this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate around 4.10pm a bus travelling west along Meadowlands Road and a motorcycle travelling east have collided.

The rider, a 48-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

The bus driver, a 63-year-old woman is assisting police with their investigations.

The eastbound lanes of Meadowlands Road have now re-opened.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
