Trans-Huon, Huonville

Post by LocoLes »

I first took an interest in the Trans-Huon fleet c2000 when noticing two former Metro Mercedes-Benz OH1316's sitting out front of the depot between contract school runs. 201 and 206 [both ex Launceston] were basically still in Metro livery but by my next visit c2002 Metro symbols and fleet numbers each side were painted out. Trans-Huon identification had also been applied to the vehicles although still in Metro green/white livery. Former Metro 203, ex Launceston, was a later addition to the fleet and retained the centre door whereas 201, 206 were minus this door. Photographs are thanks to the owner Ray Griggs who allowed me to photograph the fleet and included later visits.

Kept what they bought. Even from the early days.

Great selection LocoLes. Trying to remember what the multi-coloured National was numbered (escapes me at moment) I recognised 656  Unfortunately Ray not the best (memory-wise) last time I spoke with him, which was quite a few years ago now. Not even sure if he's still with us. Kathy (his daughter) now runs the operation.

Great Pics Les

The Metrotec low floor is actually a Csepel on an Express body which last saw use in Melbourne and was new to Kynoch Coaches
