Transhuon Bus Service

Postby Tas Bus Nut » Wed Apr 08, 2009 7:44 pm

Went for a wander down the Huon Valley the other day. Rain snow & cold. Great scenery + amazingly a great selection of private operators. Headed to the local District High School to check out the range of buses/operators in the area. Unfortunately, because of Transport regulations regarding age limits, not many operators have any old clunkers lying around at their yards/depots. PITY!! I don't know many of the operators OR bus types, however I'm sure someone out there can help with details. I will list the different operators as I know them. ENJOY!!

Great shots.
My school (Kardinia) the the same bodied bus as #206 and I personally don't like them. They're loud and are really clunky.

Found another Transhuon bus from the 90s. Ray Griggs mentioned he spent over $60-$70,000 refurbishing his Leyland and of course sold it for a song. Off re-collection this was ex MTT #656 one of the Volvo repowered Leylands. Photographed @ Wrest Point Casino back in 1995.

Wow that's a lot of money spent on refurbishing a bus! I bet the person who bought this Leyland got a great buy. Also Transhuon certainly has an interesting fleet of buses and another good bus they've got is the Hino rainbow

1316? Wow, they must be sluggish, the make 815s now, ha!

The livery, again, just flows on that body, thanks for the pictures!
