Perth visit part 5
The Roe St bus terminal on the Northbridge side of the city was a hive of activity, even at 7.30 in the morning. Unfortunately I didn't have time to hang around for the peak.

Very nice.
Looks as though you found a CNG Renault PR100 (to be phased out very soon) in addition to 3001, a MAN CNG demonstrator (The artic with the orange destos in your first image).
Obviously CNG artics never went ahead due to a change in state governments, however it is interesting to see what (garbage) was being considered. #3000, a Scania, has been off the road for two years or so now. #3002 (an Iveco/Irisbus) had a lot of gremlins that have sort-of been fixed, but still can't climb a hill at a speed faster than 15-20km/h... From an enthusiasts perspective today, however, they're oddballs and therefore interesting.

Re: Perth visit part 5
Not been familiar with the Perth fleet, or the local geography, I just wandered/rode around a bit looking for interesting places to photograph. Good to know I got some rarities.
Adjacent to this interchange was a building branded "Busport", but was still in construction phase. What is this intended to be? A lot of vacant ground around it where the railway tracks are being covered over.

It's our new underground Bus Station which is replacing the old Wellington St bus station that once stood there and is due to open in the coming months. It's part of the Perth City Link project and I have included a link to a video on the project below plus the project website

Hey 1107, that is 3002 in the pic, as 3001 (if I'm not mistaken) is in an AOA.
Cheers!

I forgot that 3001 and 3002 have a similar face. Thanks for the correction.Off The Rails wrote:Hey 1107, that is 3002 in the pic, as 3001 (if I'm not mistaken) is in an AOA.
