CNG High-Floor Bus Farewell + CNG Surprise

Post by Merc1107 »

Given the success of my compressed images in the prior post, here are some select "photographic tragedies" from Sunday 10-04-16.

Stars of the day, for those who didn't attend were O405's 1094 (Voith) & 1096 (Allison) till lunch time.
After lunch, we were greeted by two Renaults, PR100.2 1029 and PR100.3 1133.

The "surprise" was the IVECO Citelis 18 GNC.
Apparently it sorta works in a halfway decent manner when PATH mechanics and/or drivers hop on one foot, twiddle their thumbs, sing Greensleeves and squint at it just right. Otherwise, well, you get the picture

All I have to say is it (a). Sounds like a dying cat (b) has a disintegrating concertina at such a young, disused (and rather dysfunctional) age and (c) should be put out of its misery or something.

This bus also brought out the best of the local fauna at a certain terminus in Beechboro... Such a shame it couldn't have actually broken down just to annoy the character some more.

Otherwise a very successful, and fun day out for all involved.

Again, in no specific order, I bring to you:

The CNG Surprise is here as follows... I suppose with equal-representation or rights or whatever this one deserves some space to soak it up too. :?

Is anyone taking 1133 into Preservation?? Has any consultation been made? DO transperth know that the preservation community would be interested in this bus? I mean, it IS probably one of the most talked about Renaults and one of the (was) stars of a now pretty bland fleet.. Shame if it gets broken up or sold interstate..

This seems to be a good point to emphasize that the MTT / Transperth & now the PTA have always been very supportive of the bus preservation movement in Perth.

Meanwhile, in 1096, a certain enthusiast occupies the drivers seat.

Nice pics, Mr Merc.

Cheers!

Indeed. She's always been one of my favourites of the last of a dieing breed, since the 0305's were withdrawn en masse. Even the Renaults suffered a similar fate, long and short ones. blink and you could have missed them departing, nothing eft on the chopping block at the West end of the Welshpool depot even. All we had left of interest were the CNG early 0405s and her really. Now it's not long to being a complete sea of Silver and Greens. Glad she's in good hands.
