Merc O305G Find

Got a message this morning from one of my good mates that his family had bought a bus... being the inquisitive character that I am, I went over and checked it out. Turns out to have been Merc O305G #579 (ex-1579).

They plan to use it as a motorhome, and it is already halfway converted. Took it for a quick spin from an unspecified location to Woodhouse Scout Camp (Piccadilly), where it will be temporarily ahhh, parked, until it is transferred to a common location for preserved buses, USI Lonsdale.
It goes really well on flats, and absolutely dreadfully on Hills. Unfortunately in said area there are lots of Hills.

Oh yeah, and I may or may not have had a quick play with the desto...

how come the bus is not registered as a heavy vehicle its a pretty big car??

No idea, although it only has 11 seats so could be registered as a van.

It'd be great to see this alongside ex (1)540 in STA or TA livery. Any chances of it being repainted?

Unfortunately not, its intended for motor home use.
