Buses in Adelaide 2002 Pt.2

Postby Car177 » Thu Apr 23, 2009 10:46 pm

Some pictures that I took in Adelaide exactly 7 years ago in April 2002.
I have identified them as best as I can.

Some more great photos. I think the last pic of the B58 it is with Hills Transit, they have a Depot at Aldgate.

I do like seeing older Adelaide pics... Good work.

And both of those B58's and the SG280H are from TransitPlus, who were previously known as Hills Transit... I think the 1xxx numbers were from the days of the STA and TransAdelaide...

Ahh of course. I have no idea why I said Hills Transit when I knew it was TransitPlus. I even took pics of the Depot when I was up there late March this year.

Great images.

I like the ye olde livery of the Coachlines of Australia Scania, Now written off after being arsoned in Canberra with Kanga Coaches.

1353 was the second B58H I drove in service 8)

On a side note was it SG280H 1969 that is fitted with an Allison Automatic?

i really like the hills transit photos, especially the sg280h seeing as i requested one of those about a month ago and only got one reply. dont those b58s look awsome with the dome lights at both ends.

Yes they are great pictures.

Hey Mike, not everyone has access to the ATDB or if they do, not all their images are digital hence making the need for a scanner to share images, again something not everyone has mate.

I am sure if you be paitent you will eventually be seeing what you so pine for!

If that B58 had a rear dome light (it may, but it's not visible), it would look like Dumbo!
$2,500 fines for vehicles illegally using red Bus Only lanes - could cut the state's debt real quickly if they extended that to regular Bus Lanes!

quote "not everyone has a scanner',

yeah will thats understandable, if i didn't have a scanner i wouldnt be able to put pictures on here at all seeing as i only use disposable cameras. i also understand that may like me also do not have pics, only vivid memories.

so to every one who posts old pictures, i know what an effort it is to make them electronic and post them on here, so well done andkeep up the good work.

i've actually noticed over the last few months that old TA stuff was becomming more frequent than AD Met photos :D now that buses, trains and trams over here have the same paint job, its refreashing to see how much variety we use to have apart from yellow, blue and red. how i miss the old TransAdelaide days
