Request: Park Ridge Optare Tempo

Post by James00 »

Anyone spotted Park Ridge's Optare Tempo, PRT 030? I'm interested to see how the Translink livery looks on this bus.

There are a couple of photos of it on the South East Queensland Buses and Transportation Facebook page, but otherwise, i haven't seen it in the flesh or on this forum.

What engine do these come with, when it went past me the other day, it sounded like a Merc.

It's the same engine as what they use in most Euro V OC500LEs and Citaros...

Both of these Park Ridge units have the 6 cylinder Mercedes-Benz engine.

Optare offers the choice of Cummins or Mercedes engines in their vehicles.

Incorrect. The OC 500 LEs have a horizontal 6-cylinder, 11.967-litre engine - model OM 457 hLA. The Tempo has a lighter duty engine, a 6.374-litre OM 906 LA - the vertical version of what was once found on the Citaros.

They're both 6 cylinder Cummins ISB 6.7L engines.

I know this is a bit off topic- but does anyone have a decent photo of PRT 005 (MAN 10.155 Custom Coaches 510)? I had it at Toowoomba yesterday, and liked how unusual it was.

There was a thread on here from a couple of years ago I think it was titled qconnect Toowoomba or something like that. Do a forum search and see if you can find it. If not I believe I have a photo of it pre-qconnect livery. If I find it I can send it to you.

I had a look and couldn't find any photos of PRT 005. It isn't currently in Qconnect livery anyway.

That's because 30/31 were stock models whereas 32 was ordered straight from the factory for the customer.

Interior of PRT 032, with the centre door further back than PRT 030 and PRT 031.
