that video was on 23rd March 1985, The two EMU had head on crash at the 600m northern end of Trinder park station, Queensland transport Don Lane was visited it.

I remember this accident, I understand it was due to signal faults at Trinder Park that allowed the Beenleigh train onto the single track before the city bound train had cleared.

I remember watching the Thunderbird's and it being interrupted by the news-flash of this event on that Saturday morning. In those days the Ferny Grove trains ran through to Ipswich (which they did until the July 1986 timetable change which brought the Caboolture Electrification into commissioning) so trains near our house beside the line at Ferny Grove were unaffected by the events of this accident
