Good day everyone.
I've taken some happy snaps of some of the rail replacement buses at Flemington Racrcourse for the Regional Rail Link works a couple of weeks back and I'd thought I'd share them with yous.
Some of the photos may be a little blurry as it was getting dark, but enjoy nevertheless!
A lineup of Sita buses sitting at Flemington Racecourse. Spot the odd one out
Cranbourne Transit #33, a 2001 Mercedes Benz O405NH (Volgren CR221L)
Cranbourne Transit #19, a 2010 Scania K230UB (NCBC-Gemilang)
Ivanhoe Bus Company #14, a 2009 Iveco Metro (Volgren CR228L)
Sita Buslines #85, a 1986 Volvo B10M (Volgren) & Ventura #810, a 1998 Scania L113CRL (NCBC 'Buddina'). Bus #85 was one of many Volvo B10M's I saw.
A similar photo with Westrans Sunshine buses #54 and #57, both Volvo B10BLE's (Volgren CR221L)
Westrans Werribee #69, a 1991 Volvo B10M MkIII (Volgren). My favourite photo of the lot, very happy of how it turned out.
Westrans Werribee #92, a 2002 Mercedes Benz O405NH (ABM 'CB60') thinking it's a tram replacement bus.
Sita Buslines #16, a 2008 Volvo B12BLE (Volgren 'CR228L')
Sita Buslines #105, a 1986 Volvo B10M (Volgren)

Surprised it's taken so long for any photos to appear of this shutdown - coming from someone who was traveling every day during that period, your photos do well to represent the variety of what was running.

The K230UB with that NCBC-Gemilang body looks good, even when it has some design traits from NCBC's Downtown design.
Sita's #105 (and in fact most 80s Volgrens with those Beclawat windows) reminds me of a CC Mk 88 body.

Um... That gray CR221L? Or are you talking about which bodywork? In that case it's the Sita CR228L. And in the 9th photo that's not something you see most of the time do you? A 401 express bus on R/R duties?Thebusofdoom wrote:A lineup of Sita buses sitting at Flemington Racecourse. Spot the odd one out
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Yes, it’s the grey CR221L owned by Cranbourne Transit, who were subcontracted by the main operator.Bus Suggestions wrote:Um... That gray CR221L? Or are you talking about which bodywork? Given that the shutdown was during University Holidays, it wasn’t uncommon to see 401 liveried buses runningBus Suggestions wrote:And in the 9th photo that's not something you see most of the time do you? A 401 express bus on R/R duties?
