Pity this wasn't housed at the Sydney tram museum its the only type missing in their collection! :shock:

Steam motor 1A from the MAAS will be at Loftus on 30 July for the 80th anniversary of the Kogarah trolley bus opening.

Considering the amount of red tape involved in getting this car out of storage, I am hoping that it will be on display at Loftus for a longer time. 805 was supposed to be on a 2 year loan when first obtained, but the agreement has been "rolled over" a couple of times already (this is a standard museums' loan agreement policy).

So far, it appears that 1A will not be in steam on the day, although I understand it may be in operable condition (even more red tape).

The N type car will be featured on the day, as being of similar design to the steam trailers

Yes, the steam trams used similar desto boxes to the electric trams.
