The latest batch of 122 buses for Singapore have some styling revisions which have obviously been developed from 12.8mtr 3 door/ twin staircase evaluation bus, which recently entered 6 months trialservice with Tower Transit principally on route 143. I have attached a photo of one of this new batch and I just wondered if the styling of Sydney's batch of 39 buses might be similarly updated.

Just as a comparison, here is the MAN A95 in Sydney colours, taken at the bus show last. I think this bus is about 4.2mtrs in height and does suffer with lack of headroom on the top deck. The production batch are apparently to be 4.3mtrs to address the top deck problem, whereas the Singapore DD's are all about 4.4mtrs. It is interesting to note Bustech's CDI is only about 4.2mtrs in height, but does not suffer the upper deck headroom problem - they (again, apparently) have addressed this providing for a lesser, but still acceptable, lower deck height. Apologies for the photo not being 100% sharp.

I hope the B line get's something closer to the green one as it looks a decade newer than the TNSW one in the second post.

Thanks for correcting the height of the CDI's - someone obviously mislead me, when they first came out. 4.3mtrs does make sense as they seem to have enough height in both decks.

The CDi certainly looks all its 4.3 metres from behind!

The "old" deckers were 4.4; no doubt the lower floor line exaggerates the height,

AEC Decker is sure boronia means 14' 4" for the back platform deckers :P
Some Atlanteans were 14' 4" and some were 4.4m

If we are going to be precise - 4.4mtrs is actually just over 14ft 5ins and 4.43mtrs is a little over 14ft 6ins.

It is worth mentioning that a lot of so called high bridge buses in the UK were less than the commonly touted 14ft 6ins, for example the very common London Transport RT type was only 14ft 3ins - and the 150 odd pre-war RT's were less than 14ft 2ins in height.

If you have a wander around the RT and RM at the Sydney Bus Museum, you can experience the lack of ceiling height in both types = 5ft 8ins (on the top deck) which is well below what we expect today!

And it'd be useful to supply the name to this Singapore based site, but I suppose that's too much to ask for as well...

In other news, on the Adam's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ADAMSpinnacletours.com.au/) is a photo of one of their recently sold coaches, and in the background were some of the B-Line deckers.

Cheers!

How funny. We have a Singaporean MAN decker pictured on this site, but have to link to a Singapore based site to see ours.

This morning there was one parked in the Spit Reserve carpark surrounded by lots of people in suits. No rego plates or fleet numbers afixed.
Enjoy.

I wonder if the Atlanteans got this attention in 1970?

Looks awfully drab in yellow. Can't they show some fresh imagination on a new (and costly) service like this? The green used in the bus above looks way better.
Why do we need more canary yellow buses?!?
