There's a report in the UK that PT/Citibus in Dunedin have bought some second-hand MAN 14.240 (A66) / MCV, new in 2006/7, from a finance company, and previously used on airport carpark shuttles at Birmingham or Cardiff. They are some or all of AE06 OPC/F, AE57 FBL/O/U. No news on when they are being shipped.

I believe these 14.240's are quite readily available over there.

They are relatively cheap when new and MCV will build them with two doors, so have been popular as shuttle buses, but dual-door single-deckers are rare in the UK and don't have a ready second-hand market. Vehicles on shuttle services are either offloaded when a few years old and replaced, or contracts are lost and the vehicles sold to dealers or returned off lease.

Has a Bendi Bus been operating in Christchurch recently.....????? (See other topic on Discussion)

I met a mate from Christchurch yesterday in Tauranga..... He said that his Wife said she had seen what seems to have been a "London Bendi Bus" operating in service in Christchurch 'recently'.......

Now realising that his wife is NOT any sort of 'bus enthusiast '.....but knows what a Bendi looks like as they have just returned from the UK after a 4 week holiday .....Im sure that what she "saw" could well have been an Articulated Bus.

I aksed her about it and she said it was full of passengers......but couldnt remember any colour as to livery.....

My thoughts were that the only Bendis are the ex ARA ones, and those at Bayes....( any more ) where any of them in ChCh in the last few months.....???????

I have posted a Topic..... ex UK Bristol VR "The Kings Coach"
by Ribble » Mon Mar 05, 2012 8:13 am

Last seen in the Dunedin area in 2010/11, this is the Mk3 VR Prototype bus.
ex Western National No 1078 ODV78M. NZ rego is RF2020

Known as "The Kings Coach" there were plans to return it to the UK by UK enthusiasts.

Last I heard was that it had moved from Cherry Farm to the 'port area'.......

Can anyone confirm the location now of this bus or any other information about it.

The Topic is http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewt ... 41&t=66036

It seem the bus is / was sitting at The Evansdale Cheese Factory, Waikouaiti and is owned by "Bountiful Blessings" of Waikouaiti and they have a website...

http://www.assistnews.net/Stories/2006/s06100183.htm

This gives information about the owners.......

Can anyone confirm the location of the bus now and possibbly get some information about it.

thanks...

Well I guess its high time to post something to the effect that Otago Regional Council have let the tenders in Dunedin for 2013. They are currently having a debate with NZTA regarding funding but anyway the tender results are as follows
Citibus / PT
Corstorphine , St Clair , Palmerston
By far the biggest winner out of this tender round is Ritchies who have picked up the following tenders
Balacalva , Kenmure , and Helensburgh Routes plus all the all nights, sundays and public hoiliday tenders the only routes that we will now see Citibus/PT operating on a Sunday and public holidays after the 1st of July are
Port Chalmers , Portobello and the southern routes those being mosigel and Brighton. - A very different scene in Dunedin will be clear later in 2013
