There is a Alps Link vehicle 974 if I recall correctly at the Bundoora depot.

In other news the ex Northern Bus 437 which has been in a full advertising livery since it's takeover (first in the bean ground livery) has had its ugly Nandos livery removed on Saturday and replaced by a new "Yes Optus" livery on Sunday. The bus is operating the 540 service today.

Today we celebrate 65 years of business.
On the 1st of June 1952 Laurie ‘Pop’ Dyson purchased his first vehicle, and started the journey to what is now the Dyson Group of Companies.

65 years later to the day we also start operating
Shepparton Transit
Latham's of Kinglake school run to Whittlesea S.C
Mallacoota-Genoa V/line feeder service

Bill Dyson, Col Dyson and Maisie Deacon, second generation family members and current Senior Directors, have shared a little insight into this momentous day.

BUNDOORA’S Collins Dyson has been recognised for his community involvement and work in the transport industry with a Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia as part of the Queen’s Birthday honours.

“It was out of the blue and I’m a bit overwhelmed, to be honest,” Mr Dyson, pictured, said.

As a senior director of the Dyson Group bus company, Mr Dyson has provided financial and hands-on support to the community, employing many residents and assisting them through tough times.

Mr Dyson’s daughter Margie Hill nominated her father because of his “tireless efforts to the bus industry and community of Bundoora”.

He’s quite a humble man, but our family is extremely proud of his remarkable achievements and outstanding contributions over many years,” she said.

Dyson bomb false alarm

Post by Roderick Smith »

Roderick.

Drivers urged to stay clear of central Moonee Ponds after bus bomb scare.
Herald Sun August 21, 2017.
CENTRAL Moonee Ponds was shut down to traffic for four hours today after an eagle-eyed driver spotted a suspicious package aboard his bus, leading to the bomb squad robot being called in.
Bus Association Victoria executive director Chris Lowe said the experienced driver spotted the package while doing his post-service check at 10.30am.
Traffic was diverted around the area until just before 3pm for police to conduct safety checks.
A robot was used to check the package and bomb squad officers in full protective gear were seen approaching the bus.
Police have given the all-clear and traffic is being allowed to move through the area around Mount Alexander Rd.

Dr Lowe praised the Dysons route 508 driver for following protocols.
“There is a concern, if there wasn’t they wouldn’t be searching,” Dr Lowe told the Herald Sun.
“It was a suspicious package at the end of his run.
“He (the driver) showed it to police and the area has been isolated and quarantined. The driver is fine and all agencies have been told.”
Police conducted checks in Kellaway Ave and Mt Alexander Rd.

VicRoads had urged motorists to avoid the area with closures on Mount Alexander Rd and Kellaway Ave in both directions, Dean St and Ascot Vale Rd, outbound on Park St and inbound on The Strand inbound, and part of Pascoe Vale Rd was affected but not closed.
Moonee Ponds Police Station and the Moonee Valley City Council office are just metres away from the area.

* Better safe then sorry
* If it's not clear whether it is a drill or a real emergency, I say look at how that bus is parked. If it was a planned drill, it would have been parked properly. The way it is just nose in to the kerb says "abandonment" to me - like the driver just jumped out and left it. Who could blame him/her?

I caught new East West #1024 on the 566 today. PTV liveried buses are on this route almost daily now but that's the first time I've seen an East West one on it. I'm just wondering why these new buses are in PTV livery, and not East West.

1024 was their latest acquisition for East West isn't the only one's in the PTV livery. The 301 buses such as 900 and 899 are also in PTV livery.

I noted PTV livery bus 912 operating on 538 services to Somerset Estate today. Seems to be an odd sight in the Broad meadows area for Dysons. Is there a reason why only portions of the new fleet are delivered in PTV livery and the other in Dysons/East West livery? and what are the reasons they don't operate throughout the network?

I think the 301 buses you mentioned had to be delivered in PTV livery as that was the requirement for operating a new route at the time, hopefully someone can confirm this or correct me if I'm wrong. As #936 was later delivered in East West livery for the 561 and 570 routes I can only assume that. If the new buses are for the 561 and 570 it is surprising they are in PTV livery instead of East West.

Correct Richard.Buses for new routes need to be in PTV livery. They are supposed to be dedicated to the new routes, but operational reasons seem to have spread around a bit.

Bus 1022 is in Wodonga, allowing at least bus #812 or #815 onto peak hour shifts, allowing at least bus 469 or 470 onto school shifts, bus 1022 is the first low floor bus in Wodonga with a white desto

Also bus 462 and 465 have switched depots (not listed on fleet lists)

So far, in Shepparton, buses 1009, 1014 and 1018 are in the Dyson's livery and according to the Fleet list there are only 11 buses left

I'm sure I've seen 465 in the Mernda area doing school run services in the past week? Could be confusing it with another 460' fleet number.

Hello,

To clear up some of the confusion from the dribble above, I can confirm the following buses have joined the fleet at Shepparton:
137, 138, 139, 316, 402 and 805.

The following need to be added to Dysons fleetlists for Shepparton (these may have been missed):
#1012-- ex #94 Shepparton Transit (9685AO)
#1016-- ex #116 Shepparton Transit (6649AO)
#1017-- ex #112 Shepparton Transit (2112AO)

Cheers.
