Re: Dyson Group news July - December 2016
I saw #824 on the 555 today. That's the first time I have seen a bus from the Bundoora depot on an ex-Reservoir route. It would be a long time since a bus that's not a Volvo operated on one of these routes.
Re: Dyson Group news July - December 2016
Hello Richard1207 and others...
Over the past 4 weeks whilst Dysons Bundoora and Reservoir depots have been providing assistance on the Frankston line rail replacement services, there have been instances where Bundoora vehicles (a number of which are now based at Reservoir) have strayed onto Reservoir runs- on both weekdays and weekends. There has not been a 'shortage' of vehicles on the Reservoir route service side of things... although it appears someone has allocated "Bundoora vehicles" to them.
Some examples of this have been #702 and #703 on the 552 and #718 on the 558... though this was early on in the peace.... and all has been ok since. And as reported elsewhere, East West #900 ended up running a 555/556 service on the first Monday of the mid year school holidays (whilst no 301 services operated).
In other news from the north...
Effective July 24th, Route 570 operations moved back to Bundoora depot, as did fleet #809 and #882. This now allows for #811 to return to regular route service work on the 561.
I presume an extra bus has been ordered for East West, now that the 570 requires 2 vehicles to operate at all times?
And with the new Whittlesea / Kinglake and Mernda services now operating, a greater REDUCTION in PTV'd (orange) vehicles are operating on the Epping North / Wollert runs. This group of routes has been allocated a variety of regular Dysons vehicles, in particularly, a number of ex. Northern / Bell Street units, which has been a nice (and interesting) change to see.

Re: Dyson Group news July - December 2016
I have a couple of queries regarding the numbering of the Dysons fleet. The fleet list shows the latest bus is #945, but #924 is not there. Will that number be used? I was also wondering why Dysons didn't use the 500-600 range, does anyone have the answer?

Regarding Dyson's numberings if you look at fleetlists there are some other numbers that haven't appeared yetm 924 has probably not been seen by anyone yet
The 500's were reserved for there 2nd hand changeover cars
600's are luggage trailers for coaches
open to correction

924 is a Toyota Hiace out of Kyneton Depot.
500 is a car fleet
600 are trailers.

Nice refresh has taken place recently to the Dyson Group website (http://dysongroup.com.au/), but I do note the "Next 5 Departures" feature is quite buggy.

Earlier today I saw ex Reservoir #760 on route 385 at Greensborough, how unusual is this?
