Unfortunately, it's with sadness I advise that a stalwart and icon in the Tasmanian Bus industry has passed at the age of 97.
Charles (Charlie) Ayers was well known for establishing Tasmanian Coach Lines and Ayers Motor Services and was well known by operators
across Tasmania, and in fact nationwide. The Tasmanian Bus & Coach Society pass on their condolences to the Ayers family.
Likewise those whom may know him, Russell Goodluck (ex Transport Dept) also passed over the weekend. His son Craig still operate
buses out of Margate. Condolences too, to Craig and family

Re: Tasmanian Bus icon dies
Thank you Neil for your kind words. He has gone to a better place to where he was in the last weeks of his life.
My condolences go to Craig as well for his loss, I knew his dad very well & had many dealings with him at the Transport Dept
