I got an interesting insight into the importance of having maximum 15 minute headways on transport services (something that Perth does very well) recently from a health practitioner operating at Bulli on the south coast, which is served by Dions quite busy and otherwise impressive route 1 (or whatever new number it has since the recent changes) that goes from Wollongong to Thirroul along the highway. Normally it's a half-hourly service and she said that at those headways she couldn't do the school dropoffs and pickups around her fixed work hours - but if it was a 15 minute service she would happily use it (she's European, so public transport-oriented mantality).

Likewise she says many of her patients come to see her by bus and she sees the ridiculous situation of them arriving half an hour early and sitting in the waiting room and then at the end waiting in the waiting room again to avoid standing at the bus stop for half an hour waiting for the next bus back.

I often wonder how many potential public transport users we lose because of poor service like this? Obviously so easy to hop in the car if your transit service doesn't turn up soon. 15 minutes is a magic boundary marker.

Dions weekday frequency is every 20 minutes Tony.Saturday is 30 minutes and Sunday is less again.A 20 minute frequency should be very workable.

Yes, 1294 and 1295 have arrived now at Busways Penrith.
Here is Bus Fleet Lists link for more info:

You'll have to scroll down to the end of the page for the new Mercedes Volgren Optimus buses.

I wouldn’t call that a transfer as Mount Druitt is more closer to Glendenning then Penrith witch means that Busways can run shifts with any of the Penrith-Mount Druitt runs on them out of ether Blacktown depot or Penrith depot

I'm in Penrith every day of the week and live on the 770/4/5/6 routes and 1294/5 are avoiding me for sighting that's all I've rode all the others from that batch. I didn't say it was a transfer just unusual for a evening trip.

Speaking of Glendenning Ex Penrith 1171 is on the 723 and 726 this morning.

Glendenning appear to be operating some 786?/775/6 and other services in the peaks out of Penrith lately which they haven't done for a while

Noticed looking at the Fleet-list for Shoal Bus Bomaderry that they had some new MAN buses delivered with an custom "SB80" body, is this a new Custom body as I can't find much information on it yet?

Can't say I've seen them. It sounds like a charter bus. Their last transit buses are Volgren MANs.

From my research Custom "SBXX" bodies are usually High-Floor coach like buses but this MAN chassis which is a 19.320 HOCL-R-NL chassis appears to be a low floor chassis? Emmmm, maybe an administrator can clear something up about this.

Customs website seems to be really out of date on the bodies they produce as when I go to the Bus stock page it just mentions SB50 or CB80 in the text and then under Current stock there's 3 pictures of Generic overseas buses with blank descriptions.

7829 MO from Port Stephens Coaches no longer has it's Brisbane Transport livery, it is now full white except for where the Scania Letters usually are, that part is painted grey.

Also PSC have what may be a 2015 Volvo B5RH with a Bustech VST body, reg m/o 9431. The livery is a modified version of the TNSW but in green colours which I find extremely odd

Looks like a new addition to Port Stephens Coaches such a Bustech ADi. Looks like the second Bustech ADi for NSW.

It wasn't listed there last night until after I'd reported it and then the changes were made to now show m/o 9431 as the Volvo B5RLEH VSTH bus, the previous m/o 9431 at the time was showing up as a 1994 MCA CAT 7 in the Fleet-list.

Route 422 is now operated out of Kingsgrove? A plethora of CB80’s running it yesterday (late at night)

I’m not complaining, Tempe is a pretty drab depot in terms of variety

I do remember that at least back in the STA days (about three-four years ago) K apparently ran some peak-hour 422 runs; one of my first visits to IKEA Tempe involved travelling there on a 422 service which surprisingly was run by a K bus (in this case one of their early-model L113CRLs, i.e. the ones without places for a wheelchair).

Marulan Coaches were providing the shuttle buses for today's Tallong Apple Day Festival. The two buses in use were their Austral Denning Highlander still in V/Line colours, and their Denning Landseer (TV 1529) built in 1986.

Spotted Blue Mountains Explorer Bus TV 654 Volvo Olympian Alxander today at Springwood on the Great Western Highway going towards katoomba. I wonder what it was doing away from its normal duties or depot in Katoomba and Leura.
