Strange, it shows the 388, which has just one trip per day, but not the 389 which is full time.
And no mention of the 440.
(because they are TSA?)

Re: Route/Timetable changes 23rd and 30th September 2018
Any word on work being shuffled between depots next week? My guess is that W will lose local work to P and R to concentrate on 333s, M will gain 136s but lose Epping Roads and Ryde will gain Epping Roads. Reckon Ryde should do the 14.5/ bendy shifts on the 288s.

Presumably on T1 the Epping terminators coming up from Strathfield will now continue through to Hornsby...just like it was before the Epping - Chatswood line opened. Will these start at Hornsby and effectively operate as an additional train down the North Shore line, or will they commence at Lindfield, North Sydney or Central?

I can see P & R start picking up more 400 services particularly P it being close to Eastgardens & International Terminal terminuses.Ray wrote:Any word on work being shuffled between depots next week? I noticed the Returning Route 357 will still skip Randwick Junction like the current 418. Like i'm still shocked as to why 418(And soon the 357) Won't stop at Randwick junction. Like out of all teh changes made to the High Street services due to Light Rail Construction this is one of the dumbest changes i've ever seen. All they had to do was have 418 divert via Arthur Street/Blenheim street instead and that's it. But Noo they decided to change it so drastically that's it not even close to how usually operates here. Like do they think nobody uses the 418 to go to Randwick junction?

Randwick Junction/Belmore Rd is well served by numerous services from all directions. Other areas are entitled to services too.

Every train has been pulled up to Hornsby except peak services.Linto63 wrote:Presumably on T1 the Epping terminators coming up from Strathfield will now continue through to Hornsby...just like it was before the Epping - Chatswood line opened. I got the leaflet and map at BJI. There are still many leaflets left on the leaflet racks in BJI when I went there today, so if anyone wants to collect these leaflets, just make your way to BJI soon.moa999 wrote:I got that 'map' at Bondi Junction Station.
Flipside has a brief description of the various changes.
Agree it's a weird one in that it shows train and ferry lines, but doesn't show the numerous other bus routes in the area that arent changing.
Eg
200, 311, 389, all the Oxford/Anzac routes
Unfortunately there isn't a leaflet for the changes this Sunday about 400/420 and 418/357.

I wonder why TfNSW would bother changing some services into school buses. Does this somehow save money or time, or is there another reason for the change?

It saves them operating those routes during school holidays when the operator does not get paid for them.

I'm impressed by the amount of detail provided for the bus route changes. It's the complete opposite for the train changes.

Re: Route/Timetable changes 23rd and 30th September 2018
The thing is that the new 357 runs express along Alison Road/Botany Street between the stop on Cook Street and UNSW, it doesn’t service any other areas of use, but merely skips a major patronage generator. I think the idea is odd, at least when the 348 did it, it stopped at the same stop as the 374 to at least service Randwick Jn.boronia wrote:Randwick Junction/Belmore Rd is well served by numerous services from all directions. ^ Routes in the Randwick area were re-routed in March 2017 due to CSELR construction, the 357 is simply following the diversion that the 418 followed.

Route/Timetable changes 23rd and 30th September 2018
In the new weekday timetable there is a new service departing Lindfield at 08:49 and terminates at Rhodes Platform 3 at 09:43. I wonder why that is the case?

Re: Route/Timetable changes 23rd and 30th September 2018
That particular 637 trip was an oddity. No other 637 trips operated to Pennant Hills any more, it diverted off the normal 638 path towards Pennant Hills, and was mostly carrying school children. There is a 637 service to Castle Hill 15 mins prior and 15 mins after during term and school vacation, and 15 min service could not be justified during school vacation based on patronage once students were no longer travelling.Qantas94Heavy wrote:

Re: Route/Timetable changes 23rd and 30th September 2018
Here's a question to the ATDB crowd. The 333 now operates:
- Every 6 minutes or better during the day, 7 days a week (with headways down to 3 minutes in the peaks)
- Every 10 minutes or better early in the morning and late evening, 7 days a week
- With its overnight variant, the 333N, a service is provided 24/7. The 333N operates every 30 minutes or better.
Is this the most frequent PT route in the country, when measured across the whole week? I'm aware of some routes with a better frequency at some times of the day, however in terms of quality of frequency across the week and time of day I can't think of a better service. If you apply 24/7 operation as a criteria, the competition is even thinner.
Melbourne's trams can't match the 24/7 coverage, but even setting this aside, flagship routes such as the 96 don't match the 333's frequency.

Looking at the PDF file for the T1 North Shore Line, it does not show whether trains after Strathfield are going to Epping, Rhodes, Blacktown, Penrith, Richmond, or possibly other alternatives.
This can be very annoying if you are trying to "plan your trip". It's not as if they are short of blank space on the page.

Re: Route/Timetable changes 23rd and 30th September 2018
I also notice that the T1 western line timetable now has separate pages for Saturday and Sunday. I haven't notice this in Sydney for quite a while - in Melbourne is it normal.
Re: Route/Timetable changes 23rd and 30th September 2018
You would look at a Western or Northern line TT in that case. Both those TTs show up to Chatswood and provides that overlap as well.neilrex wrote:Looking at the PDF file for the T1 North Shore Line, it does not show whether trains after Strathfield are going to Epping, Rhodes, Blacktown, Penrith, Richmond, or possibly other alternatives.

That would be great if my phone could view 2 pdf files at the same time, which it won't.

Yeah, most frequent. But not the most capacity that's for sure, not even the most capacity for a primarily street-based route since I think the 96 will have more capacity. In Transit wrote:Is this the most frequent PT route in the country, when measured across the whole week? It's a shame that Melbourne doesn't have any 24/7 routes though, except for Skybus. Sydney has 22 bus routes (includes Nightride) that runs 24/7 plus the tram as far as The Star.
