Transport For NSW was created by the newly elected liberal government in 2011 witch means that those 2010 transfers would have to be approved by the NSW ministry of transport witch was one of the transport agencies that were amalgamated into Transport For NSWDaniel wrote:By the approval of Transport for NSW...

They are allowed to do that subject to approval by Transport for NSW.

What he means is there was no Transport for NSW at that time. Yes, it would have been the Ministry.Fleet Lists wrote:They are allowed to do that subject to approval by Transport for NSW.

Transport For NSW are a bus region contract tender session or two away from owning every bus running in all SMBSC and OSMBSC contracted regions as the youngest pre Unsworth review buses that are currently 15 years old these buses are classed as operator owned

Re: Region contracts expiring in 2018
Seems that no one mentioned this, but most OSMBSC (all but Newcastle Transport) and some SMBSC (Region 1, 3, 10, 12, 13, 14) contracts are expiring in the next 2 years according to the eTenders NSW website.

Edit: I have also summarised the end dates for OSMBSC & SMBSC on Wikipedia.

Re: Region contracts expiring in 2018
To continue from above, from eTendering NSW, the first one to expire is Transdev's region 10, expiring 31 December 2019. However, the information has not been updated since June 2016. Same for region 13 which expires 30 April 2020.
Regions 1, 3, 12 and 14 which were tendered November 2012, were last updated in November 2018 to reflect their extended contract periods for another 3 years.

I’m hoping that OSMBSC 4 becomes NISC 2, as there’s a lot of rationalisation and integration that could happen if KD took over the contract. Right now it’s strange to have this mix of 2 digit and 3 digit routes, and the HVB services are practically invisible to anyone in a mostly KD area that doesn’t use apps.

Has anything been announced on the extension clause in the contracts for regions 2,4,5 and 15 yet

Regarding Transdev you might want to check back to earlier posts in this thread...marcnut1996 wrote:To continue from above, from eTendering NSW, the first one to expire is Transdev's region 10, expiring 31 December 2019. Re: Region contracts expiring in 2018
My applogies, I just saw it. The Transdev South contracts expire one year after the supposed expiry dates listed on eTenders. But just asking, are there any online sources or references for the extension for these contracts?

Re: Region contracts expiring in 2018
eTenders is only as good as the information put into it, when it comes to extensions granted it is often not updated. At this point that is the offical extension granted, it may be extended further. There is no online source for you to quote.
