Man stabbed in Sydney's CBD while waiting for a bus

Police have arrested a man in Sydney's CBD after another man was stabbed at a Wynyard bus stop.
Emergency services were called to Carrington Street, outside the Wynyard train station, about 2pm on Wednesday, after reports a man had been stabbed while he was waiting in a bus queue.
The man suffered stab wounds to the back of his neck and was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.
The man had been waiting at Stand B, just outside the entrance to the station, when the incident unfolded. The bus route serves suburbs in Sydney’s north including Collaroy, Dee Why and Brookvale.
The bus shelter was cordoned off by police tape as emergency services responded.
The alleged attacker initially got away, and a police manhunt was launched to locate him.
About an hour after the stabbing, the man suspected of carrying out the attack was found and arrested, before being taken to Day Street police station.
By then, the only sign of what had happened was a remnant of tape tied to a tree behind Stand B, where commuters sheltered from the rain.
Inquiries are continuing, and police are urging anyone with information or who saw the attack to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
