Rumour has it that three vessels of a very new class will feature in the race on Friday and that one may have a name missing from it.

Abbotsford wharf upgrades
Monday 29 January
From Wednesday 7 February, Abbotsford Wharf will be temporarily closed while upgrade works are underway.
The upgrades include improvements to the safety and accessibility of the wharf and changes to allow faster and more efficient boarding and disembarking of ferries. Other changes include better seating and waiting areas and improved weather protection.
The closure is estimated to last for 4 months, dependent on weather and maritime conditions.
Bus route 437 runs between Abbotsford and Chiswick Wharf providing an alternative to connect to most peak hour ferries and all off peak hour and weekend ferries. Bus routes 438 and L38 also leave frequently from Great North Road opposite Battersea St towards the City.
Use the Trip Planner or download a real-time transport app to help plan your travel.

I am not seeing how the manly fast ferry is in any way relevant to actually going to the Zoo. That was probably written by a person who drives everywhere and has never been on a ferry.

I must be hearing things. Even Ray Hadley said that Andrew Constance lied.
But according to NBN News, May Gibbs doesn't qualify as it wasn't one of the chosen names.

Also neither of the Manly Fast Ferry timetables on Transport Info which show OpalPay include a stop at the Zoo

Both of the PDF's still state "Contact Manly Fast Ferry for ticket options. You cannot use Opal on this service."

This wasn't intended to infer that Opal was available on the Zoo service, as Neilrex didn't mention it.boronia wrote:Part of the MFF service range includes services to the Zoo:neilrex wrote:I am not seeing how the manly fast ferry is in any way relevant to actually going to the Zoo. Sydney’s First Ferry Headed for the Fish Market
From the city to the market in 30 minutes. Yes.
Sydney Fish Market receives about 3 million visitors every year. Over half of these visitors come by car. Parking costs $10 for one hour – not to mention the headache of fighting for a spot. It’s expensive, congested and luckily something you won’t have to do for much longer.
SeaLink Travel Group, the company behind Captain Cook Cruises, has announced Sydney’s first fish market ferry service will take to the waters on March 24 this year. Every weekend it will transport market-goers from King Street Wharf 1 in Barangaroo to Sydney Fish Market, and back every 30 minutes.
“It’s a dream fulfilled. I have been advocating for quite some time to get a ferry service and it’s an awesome opportunity to get more public transport to the market on weekends,” Sydney Fish Market general manager Bryan Skeeper tells Broadsheet.
To begin, the ferry will only operate on weekends at $9 per person for a one-way ticket and $15 for a return fare.
After more than 50 years at its current location, the iconic markets are [moving to the southern area of Blackwattle Bay. The new site will see it double in size, and quadruple the number of available parking spaces, as well as add a new road, and light rail and ferry connections. Construction is due to start in late 2018, and the ferry service will drop passengers at the new site when it opens.
Anthony Haworth, general manager of Captain Cook Cruises, is certain the ferry will help more people access the market. “The service will not only provide a quick thirty-minute ferry trip for passengers visiting Sydney Fish Market or the city but will also help reduce traffic in and around the city by taking cars and buses off our congested roads and expanding our blue highway.”
The Sydney Fish Market has been operating since 1966 and is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. It trades over 13,500 tonnes of seafood annually and has its own seafood school providing tips on how to prepare and cook seafood. With on-site restaurants and cafes, the market is a huge tourist attraction that Skeeper believes, will only grow.
“It’s fantastic to have a connection to the water. We are all about connecting people with products that have been harvested in the sea, to travel across the sea, to buy your produce, creates this special journey.”
From March 24, the Sydney Fish Market ferry will operate on weekends, every half an hour, from 9am–5pm.

Re: NSW Ferry Discussions 2018.
It’s actually pretty reasonable for an unsubsidized service. Not really fair to compare to government public transport.
If you get a water taxi for the same distance it will set you back at least $60, plus extra per person charges.
