I recently drove past Fairy Meadow station to find the old white station signs with a blue line were replaced with standard orange station signs, I believe all stations north of Fairy Meadow have been equipped with orange station signs as well.

Adamstown and Kotara have been complete for a while now, and I saw today that Cardiff is now mostly complete with all of the circa-2012 metal benches now replaced by the faux wooden ones.
Fassifern also done, with metal seats remaining.

No sign of a number for the line, a la T1? (M1?)

No actually. Although thinking about it you don't really see the line designations outside of the posters and PSD's anyway.

Line numbers are also used in bus replacements, eg 99T1.

Rooty Hill will presumably be done with the accessibility upgrade.

On the Blue Mountains Line:

I don't know of any other statins that have the new signage. :)

that sign makes me feel sick. It is either Tallewang or Tallawang. Tallawong is just plain wrong.

Why is it wrong? That's the name of the adjacent street the station is named after.

The Geographical Names Board agreed the correct spelling is Tallawong. I don't understand why that makes you sick when the experts have researched it and defined it carefully.

extremely poor design on your second and third photos there.

The font for the station names should be at least double that size, and could easily be even larger than double that size without cluttering the sign.

But probably need that font size come 2024 when you add another 18 station names.

I suspect this NW line will become "M1" and CSW line will become "M2"... with "M3" and "M4" lines following (West and Airport)

I doubt they’d split the one line into M1 and M2.

Tend to agree - of what's in the 2030 plans.
M1 Tallawong-Bankstown (possible future extension to Liverpool and Schofields)
M2 Parramatta-CBD (possible future extension to Maroubra/Little Bay)
M3 Macarthur-St.Marys (possible future extension to Schofields) (possibly higher speed trains than M1 so Schofields as an interchange)

That's said by the time all that's complete some of the existing T lines may well have PSDs and some degree of automation, so they may well drop the M moniker by the time we get there.

Afterall they don't particularly differentiate with buses based on operator or type.

Yes, but all the B,M,X,L (and all the other various letters) are under the B roundel

And operator wise I suspect many wouldn't even know who actually operates buses in their area (well apart from the slow repaint)
