see https://www.transportnsw.info/news/2017 ... ry-closure
So the changes on 24th April relate to the closure of Birchgrove wharf and 6th May to its reopening.

Yes that is what it says
From Monday 24 April, F3 Parramatta River and Captain Cook Cruises private ferry services will not be stopping at Birchgrove Wharf (Stop ID: 20412) while emergency maintenance work is underway. Services should resume from Saturday 6 May.

Re: NSW Ferry Discussion
From https://www.transportnsw.info/news/2017 ... e#homepage
A further new timetable is up on Transport info from that date to show this difference. From Wednesday 10 May, F3 Parramatta River ferry services will not be stopping at Cockatoo Island Wharf (Stop ID: 20009), which will be closed while the wharf is upgraded. This closure will continue for approximately 5 months dependant on weather and maritime conditions.
Ferry services and charters will instead be stopping at Camber Wharf, which is located on the southern side of Cockatoo Island. Signs will be in place with directions towards Camber Wharf.
You should allow for additional travel time and use the Trip planner to plan your travel with the latest information available.

I was about to post this also. It'll cause delays to the CI terminators, but through services may see a speed up in time, I guess we'll see!

COCKATOO IS
Re-routing didn't commence on Wed. 10 May, but on the Thursday or Friday. Ferries are berthing to the west of the vehicular ferry ramp, whereas the "official" diagram showed Camber Wharf to be to the east of that ramp. All ferries have to "back" out of the wharf.

COCKATOO.....
At 9.20am on 16.5.17, 3 ferries, a Rivercat, a First Fleeter, and a Captain Cooker, vied for access to Camber Wharf. The jam wasn't cleared until 9.33.

At 1.42pm on Sunday 21.5.17, two ferries berthed simultaneously at Cockatoo's Camber Wharf.
Re: NSW Ferry Discussion
Does anyone know which First Fleet ferries have authorisation to cross the heads? Is this done as a Class D survey or an endorsement on their normal class E survey card? I assume it is limited by the height of the waves at the heads.
Recent sighting of Fishburn at Manly Wharf: https://imgrpost.com/image/01A8
Still a shame they don't use Supercats for these runs, they are much more suitable. I thought maybe by now, Harbour City Ferries would have worked out the union issues that prevented their use previously.

Re: NSW Ferry Discussion
All ferries go to Manly. All types of ferry have gone to Manly in the past two months. First fleets, River/Harbour/Supercats and Ladies. The Ladies can go all the time, except in high swell, and the others can go in a low swelljpp42 wrote:Does anyone know which First Fleet ferries have authorisation to cross the heads? Re: NSW Ferry Discussion
Between 1130 and 1145 today Catherine Hamlin circumnavigated Cockatoo Island in an anti-clockwise direction, berthing at Camber Wharf. She bears large black-on-yellow signs advising "Not in service - Testing in progress". Maybe she's got the new rudder. The bridge seems a bit lavish - about the size of a small ballroom! And the bright orange "floaties" on the top deck have already faded to a dirtyish beige. She departed up-river toward Gladesville Bridge...

Remind us and we can have a look at it at the beginning of 2018 - it is certainly not worth doing it on a monthly basis.
