Dutton has been deemed eligible.

It would be nice if we could have a strong, stable government again, enough of this nonsense, we have gone through 5 prime ministers since 2007.

It’s not like there’s a state that has knifed that many premiers I know New South Wales hasn’t had a full term premier since 2003 but that’s mostly due to mid term resignations or in the way of labor’s 4th term in government between 2007 and 2011 where the leader changed 2 times in 4 years

The Liberal Party has selected Scott Morrison as their leader, and Josh Frydenberg as his deputy.

Such pace of change is not unprecedented - though the means of change is different - eg not a single prime minister served a full 3 year term between 1964 and 1977.

Due either to retirement, early elections, death, leadership challenges or sacking.

The big change is that in the past it was very common for PMs to call an early election. Now early elections are rare (they are so wary about losing that they would like to hold on as long as possible) and governments are more likely to run their full term but knife their leaders mid-term.
