I nickname this "the coin" because it's so flat.
The bracket is actually an old handle for a saucepan lid that I drilled out.

I have since fitted it on a flatter bracket so it doesn't stick out so far, plus it's orbiting slightly which is not good at high speeds, especially when the bracket is only aluminium  .

Here's the steel strap used to hold it on now. I can drive on the M1 now, making my car a luxury coach  .

Vehicles of note I've seen these compact little Jost hubodometers fitted to are an ex Adelaide Leyland Worldmaster with it's original Lawton body, a Leyland National in Qld, Volvo B10Ms as well as STA Mark IV and Mark V Mercedes. Plus a Leyland Super Viking and many trucks and trailers. Now a Ford Laser coach.

Fitted this on a few nights ago. I like how you get a glimpse of the inner workings from the side. I read that these have a partial vacuum of inert gas inside so it's always pulling in the lens as well as resisting fogging.

The current one. This actually is reasonably accurate.
I had to disconnect my speedo cable, so this was practical for a couple of short trips.

I welded a nut onto this stainless steel bracket so it's a simple case of screwing the device on with the aid of a spring washer to keep the hubbo from working itself off.

I can stick on any of my 30 or so depending on my mood and can quickly remove it and stash it in the boot while I go shopping and avoid drawing unwanted attention to my car. Just a genius at work -I'm biased haha.

It's a good idea, you've got to think of thieves these days, police defecting cars, easy as changing clothes.
