Doesn't seem like anyone else makes these posts anymore...
but I got a new Camera today for a price I'm happy with. Lumix TZ40 for $335 from Bing Lee.

I just wish we could all get along like we used to in Middle School, I wish that I could bake a cake made of rainbows and smiles and we'd all eat it and be happy.

The LED light globe I purchased for my desk light, the light is so much nicer than that from the CFL it replaced. Shame it cost me $20 though...

Do you mean vertically, or horizontally?Off The Rails wrote:*I'm twice the size of an average 13 year old boy.
Because if you were three metres tall that'd be freaky...

Re: What makes you happy today?
Both. Most of the kids in my class are only 5 foot 2, but I'm reaching 6 foot 2.5, plus I'm heavier then most people, so thats how I've figured it out to be twice the size.jarf wrote:Do you mean vertically, or horizontally?Off The Rails wrote:*I'm twice the size of an average 13 year old boy.

Re: What makes you happy today?
just to interrupt... but I grew up playing FlightSim and so strangely, despite being brought up in a Metric-standard country, I actually find that in terms of height, I'm very comfortable with feet/inches.
Saying 8,000M up to me will result in a blank stare... Saying 16,000ft, I'll at least understand. (Note. I don't think 8,000m is 16,000ft)

Brendan, I'll just be a nit picker, but 8000m is 26246ft 8 5/8in.

Haha, that's like me, I understand ft just from aviation, and I can convert mph into kph. Re: What makes you happy today?
I just add 16kph for every 10mph, so 90kph is 55mph.

Re: What makes you happy today?
See, I just don't understand Metric for height. I do recall once I was flying an Airbus and accidentally knocked the Metric/Imperial switch on the MCP and couldn't work out why I was at ~10,000 and the plane refused to climb any higher, until I realised I was actually at 30-something thousand feet and at the ceiling for the weight config the plane was currently in.Off The Rails wrote:Brendan, I'll just be a nit picker, but 8000m is 26246ft 8 5/8in.

I do however, have a good understand how long a given number of nautical miles would take to fly.

I will do any measurements I need to do in mm's, inches, or feet, then convert them as need be, it's just something really good to know
