It is indeed a very good run along the ocean and up against high cliffs. I actually videoed the journey from Nice to Monaco while riding on a MAN Lions City U. See below.

While you were in Nice did you check out the tram line that in 2007 that runs from Las Planas to Pont Michel with extension to Pasteur from Pont Michel opening sometime this year.

Yes. The extension was under construction when I was there. I have tram photos which will come up next.
