The article quotes the cost of the buses (converted to $A at the current exchange rates) as $520,000 for the initial order of 600 and then $480,000 for the subsequent order of 200. That is said to be too expensive. Just as well they aren't buying the buses here. Maybe someone has the current cost of either a Bustech or Volgren DD on (say) a Volvo chassis but I believe the cost is at least 30% higher than that of the Boris bus.

They are a uniquely designed Hybrid double decker hence some of the cost. would have been a massive damage to the Northern Irish economy some have been developed on different chassic now and adl launched the enviro 400 city a rip off design to counter the vehicle

The Boris Masters were meant to replace the Citaro G's, IIRC.
