Hi,
Whats the main signs that your compressor has had it?
Can it just 'die'.
Leyland 680
Anyone know of someone who can overhaul?
Any help appreciated

Re: leyland 680 compressor
The most obvious sign is that it is not producing air !!
Has it been getting slower, or did it just die suddenly?
Most common problems would be wear in the cylinder or piston rings; also stuck or damaged valves. Also possible that the drive from the engine is damaged.
It shouldn't be too hard to find places that repair air compressors in your area.

Re: leyland 680 compressor
Thanks Boronia,
Just a lot of oil coming through the system and now air not building up beyond 60psi.
Bus has been sitting for six months and I'm told the oil may have gunked up one of the valves possibly.
I thought I might just replace the top end of the compressor to at least try and eliminate the oil going through to the valves.
Then I was going to replace the governor valve which is between compressor and main tank.
There is also the condenser/air dyer? and another valve prior to the tank so its possible one of them also.
Process of elimination I guess?
Thanks for your reply

A lot of oil would suggest worn rings, but just looking at it bit by bit might show up the problem.
Mr Motorparts at Auburn might have service kits for them, give Doug a call there.
