Update to Phpbb3?

Post by 2AK7H »

When the final release of Phpbb3 comes out, will you be upgrading?

I have seen what the admin panel looks like and it looks really good, and plus there are more features.

Yes, I'm quite sure we will be - some members are testing a beta version right now.

Ok thats good!

I have seen the admin panel of Phpbb2 and its not that impressive. I think you can add code modifications (like the turn off post count on this forum) but I have not seen where you add it.

Theres always SMF, which I am sure has converters from Phpbb, but its admin panel is totally different and would take some time getting used to :)

Just adding to what Andrew has said, yes it is being beta tested and will be placed here when it reaches either a release candidate stage or when it becomes a full version. Which ever the Admins choose it will have some effect on the board regardless. However, there are a few things still being discussed as to how and what could be done to the software once placed on here.

Other than that, not much else could be said.

Admins are already aware and decision are being made on what will be happening. Wait for further info from an Admin.

As for use in a live environment...check the documentaion

Yes it is supposedly able to be used in a live environment...and so is RC2.

That's all I'm saying at this point.
Reality continues to ruin my life.
