With that last image - is it just me but I see a fancy colourful red dress blown in the wind exposing white knickers. Perhaps I've been indoors too long during this virus - need to get out and get some fresh air ! Seriously though - that's what it reminds me of. Just love your analogy Centra...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Hmm....reverting back to 3 operators. Certainly a leap forward, not. If you read it carefully it is actually four operators. -1)-Busways South Australia Pty.Ltd.Outer south. -2)-Keolis Downer.Hills -3)-Torrens Connect Pty.Ltd.North/South contract. -4)-Torrens Transit Pty.Ltd.Outer north east.East /...

Re: East Hills MP Wendy Lindsay lobbies for bus route detour
I think what Wendy Lindsay did in helping to get that change in is what a switched on MP should be doing. She was doing it for 98 more students safety as well as her own two children. The students also were from her own electorate. The flow of students between various residential areas and schools n...

Re: [SMH] Public transport growth surges past NSW government
Agreed Tony. Melbourne has not invested in additional capacity for several years now, although there are projects such as the underground rail extensions either being worked on or in the pipeline. There has been no investment in additional capacity on tram routes with several routes screaming for mor...

Done well Boronia.
Thanks for the shots.
The Palm Beach Ferry Service is owned by the same group that owns Fantasea Cruises which explains why it is operating on Sydney Harbour.
How many pax did the 439 get ??
Have a good day..

Re: On Demand Ferry
Lets hope so Tony. .Yet another interesting trial. There is some good pax potential in this densely populated and tourist orientated area. The vessel size and therefore the cost of running the service is the major factor why this service,in my book, will not work. For on demand to work with ferries th...

It is definately stage 2.It is not a merger but a takeover with Fusion taking over Bustech.

Re: STA Observations 2019
Yes,definately a beat up as the amalgam of bus routes carried roughly the same numbers. STA (and TFNSW)still need to rationalise the service there more and just have the one route 333 operating on that corridor. As Tony says with all door loading/unloading to make things more eficient. I will bet Gab...

Re: North & Western Bus Lines remnants
Generally most of the top flight private operators of the past realised that operating 15-25 year old buses was not overly attractive to their passenger bases ,and more expensive in maintainence and fuel usage and made sure that their new fleet mostly operated all day shifts and the older buses just...

Re: New bus network arising from SMNW opening
Cherrybrook is the worst case in the NW bus network where literally nothing is available from the nearby residential areas to the Cherrybrook Station. Most of the other stations suffer from simllar situations but there is generally a 30 minute peak/60 minute convoluted route covering some of the nea...

Re: Sydney's demographics are changing
Would not be far off there Tony!!! Would allow the demand to be met properly. I can't think of a lot of routes in the former traditional private areas that would require artics but there are a lot of corridors in the STA and former STA areas that would need them. 333,400,410,343,438,Victoria Rd to n...

Re: Sydney's demographics are changing
In the UK there are thousands of mini and midi sized buses operating lower patronage route services for operators large and small. In fact the 2 main trade bus magazines both have sections devoted to small buses such is the demand for buses of that size in the industry. There were a lot of areas in ...

Re: Artic running on route 458
That would appear to be an absolute waste of capacity at the height of the PM peak hour. So it leaves Top Ryde at 3.43 PM ON THE preceding 458 ar Burwood at 4.27pm. Lay over for 16 minutes then does another 458 to Top Ryde at 4.43pm arriving AT 5.27pm. From observations the 458 does not get massive ...

Just a continuation of the one size fits all services regime operated in Sydney for decades which has failed dreadfully and which can not provide...
