Re: NSW Railway Observations 2020

The 2:00am, Newcastle Interchange to Fassifern services will now depart at 1:46am instead then extend to Wyong, arrive at 2:51am, then connect to Central via Strathfield at 2:53am from Wyong etc. Is there any reason why they couldn't just run one service from Newcastle Interchange to Central, inste...

Re: September 2019 timetable changes

That is the end of routes 829 and 94N. Both routes were introduced in late-2010 as part of the Hassle Free Nights plan https://web.archive.org/web/20110312212715/http://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/uploads/u16/NewLateNightTransportSystem.pdf Incorrect, 94N was only introduced around March thi...

“Rather interesting that I saw a 14.5m Ansair Orana operating an L94 yesterday (07/07/19), towards La Perouse. It was seen turning from Elizabeth St to Liverpool St at Museum Station.”

Pardon my ignorance, but which part of this observation is interesting?

Re: Sydney set for 'profound' shift in spending on mass tran

First big positive step resulting from bringing both the transport sectors properly under one agency. After more than 70 years, finally no more "DMR" tail wagging the transport planning dog (we hope!). The same people with the same methodologies will just be wearing a different uniform. New uniform...

Re: STA Observations 2019

Had an interesting experience today. Driver on the 400, telling me it was illegal for me to take a photo of his driver ID card, from well behind the no standing area whilst sitting at a red light (He was 13 minutes early - which isn't ok), before yelling I had to sit down as standing was too danger...

Re: Route number changes in Southern Division

You’re rather wrong there. In the rural areas, people don’t need to look out for the route number, because buses don’t run frequently at all. They just look at the timetable and board the bus that comes at the right time, whatever the bus is displaying. They also look for the operator’s name/livery,...

Re: Private Observations 2019

There’s a Volgren Optimus from BE (Blue Mountains, Emu Plains) Depot, 3712, running on N70 at the moment which is highly unusual as far as I’m concerned. Different font / size in the destos. Usually it’s only from seven hills Been like that for ages. First N70 inbound is done by Emu Plains, to save...

Re: NSW On Demand Buses

Seems like nobody mentioned the upcoming on demand services to connect with the metro: 1. Busways will operate a Cooee service around The Pond to connect with the Metro at Rouse Hill and Tallawong, and connect with T1 Western Line at Schofields 2. CDC MetroConnect (how original...) will operate arou...

andy_centralcoast wrote:Most trains towards the city are departing Chatswood a minute early this morning. Has it been changed to an ‘e’ stop?
i wonder if that's based on arrival times as opposed to departure times
trains generally arrive a minute early at chatswood due to the fat in the timetable

I haven't looked too much into the Dubbo one yet, but i definitely agree with you in relation to the Portland one, already a decent service along the combined 600/636 corridor i'll probably chase the portland one, given it's probably far easier to access than the other ones one thing that caught my ...
