Sadly, this blatant lack of competence is becoming the norm in a wide range of industries and professions. And it seems that those in power think its ok.

Re: Grenda Group news January - June 2011

Noted Peninsula 138 (or maybe 139) Volvo B10BLE being used on nightrider this evening. Rather strange as it has been a long while since i have seen a bus that old out on nightrider. Now that you mention it, I noticed another old-ish Grenda low floor on the 3.30am Night Rider to Dandenong last night...

Nice photos.

Am I correct in assuming that this is the run that is now operated by Premier Coaches as part of their Melbourne-Sydney route??

Re: Grenda Rumour

Cutting costs by streamlining , example being common livery across all fleet makes sense. Im just curious if some of the cost cutting happening within recent weeks would be partially due to the ATE's loss of 2 massive contracts areas in their Perth operations which are being taken over by Swan Tran...

Re: Grenda Rumour

id say it more got to do with making every thing uniform so they can transfer a bus from Lily day to Cardinia and just change the depot letter and its ready for service less down time That is more feasible. Alot of people dont realise, it actually costs money to have one company trading under sever...

Re: Ventura employment

So virtually that means 3 years of permanent afternoon/night shift?, no AM shifts at all. How do Ventura's shifts and rosters work?, at the smaller depots like Knox and Croydon? Depends on the depot. To my knowledge, Oakleigh and Knox depots hire drivers who then become full time relief drivers. Th...

rumour has it that grendas track operation will be sold to cdc as all depots are slowly being changed to grenda before the move If I was a betting man, I would be putting my money firmly on the trifecta of Hell freezing over, pigs learning to fly and me becoming a multi millionaire overnight, befor...

I disagree Mercedes, We get the picture Grendas are rebranding their entire fleet as GRENDA. Re: SkyBus Low Floors at Avalon Airport

Its a toss up as to which situation is more refreshing. The fact that there were some low floor Skybuses at Avalon for a change, or the fact that Tiger Airways actually provided transport for its passengers under the circumstances, rather than their usual "oh well stiff XXX, its your problem no...

Re: Ventura to employ Irish drivers

It may also be some of the many drivers that Ventura took on when they started 902 have decided that bus driving isn't for them, they've gotten the s**ts with the early morning starts or they've moved onto another career or another company. I considered this possiblility myself, but then it just br...

Re: Ventura employment

Please keep in mind, my last comment wasnt a dig at Ventura. But I have seen in my time, many people who have had a crack at driving buses and then realised the job wasnt for them. If you were one of these people, there could be nothing worse than being bound by a contract when you desperately want ...

Re: Ventura employment

If Ventura provides training to you for you to get your licence, you are obligated to work for a minimum period of time, which is in some ways fair enough. If it is at all possible, I would suggest trying to get your licence independently so that you aren't bound by any contractual obligations shoul...

Re: Ventura to employ Irish drivers

I'd personally recommend any potentially interested Irish bus drivers do check out other options available too, which will possibly be more beneficial to them long term. Moving abroad is a big move, and not something that should necessarily be done just because you happen to be flavor of the month w...

After all, they seem to be only bus company in Melbourne with staff turnover rates the size they seemingly have. Everybody...
