Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

With a route change such as that coming up on Monday for 230 and 232 what kind of training (if that is the word) is provided for drivers on the modifications? Is it as simple as the sheet of paper with the directions of where to turn when or is there other more specific information provided in the l...

Re: [Jan-Jun 2023] SA Transport observations

Will this make any difference to the people who are currently not paying? Regardless of having a Metrocard or not. Caught a 254 from Port Adelaide on Sunday afternoon, by the time it reached Arndale there were probably 30 people on it, about 25 of them just walked straight on and sat down, didn't ev...

Re: [Jan-Mar 2023] SA Transport observations

A couple of days late, I was in the city Friday afternoon for the Motorsport Festival street party, while I was waiting for the cars to arrive around 5.40 I noticed a bus (1273) stopped just past the start of the tunnel access road, wandered down to have a look and the tunnel closed sign was on and ...

Re: July 2023 AdMet timetable changes

Hopefully that includes the closing of the level crossings at Belford Avenue and Pym Street and the direction of traffic to the bridges at Torrens Road and Regency Road. The corner of Pym St and Exeter Tce has been slightly widened near the cemetery to allow heavy vehicles to turn right out Exeter,...

Re: [Jan-Mar 2023] SA Transport observations

I usually catch the bus up to Stirling for the TDU and it has usually stopped near the round-about then turned left onto Pomona Road and detoured around Stirling because the bikes went along Avenue Rd. This year the bikes will be using Pomona Rd so i'm guessing the whole round-about will be closed s...

Re: July 2023 AdMet timetable changes

With the consultation on amendments to the 230/232 timetable hinting at service changes in July 2023, has anyone had any insight onto what other changes may occur? Potentially the Gawler train timetable and feeder buses with more 4000 class trains running by then? Mt Barker service improvements giv...

Re: Buses returning to Days Rd & Harrison Rd

Option 1 is best in my opinion. Option 2 could make many 232s late especially when freight trains and passenger trains come through Dudley Park. Went along to the info session at Arndale last week and spoke to one of the 4 members of the project team that were there regarding the 2 options for the ...

Re: [Apr-Jun 2022] SA Transport observations

Accident tonight on the corner of Arndale St and Gray st Kilkenny (near salvos and Hoyts) around 5pm involving 1225 (I think) and a city bound 251. Looked like everyone was ok, no emergency services when I went past, front of 1225 looked to have a fair bit of cosmetic damage, couldn’t see the side o...

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

A couple of random questions. Now that single trip tickets are no longer available on the bus and there regularly seems to be people (often the same ones) who don't seem to have topped up their Metro cards or don't have one at all, I have been wondering if drivers are keeping track of this on each r...

Re: 230, 232 and 232R route and timetable change

Maybe once the bridge project is complete, an option would be to resume the old route via Harrison, Pym and Days, with buses turning left into South Rd, u-turning at the intersections of South and Regency or Torrens, then left back into Pym St. It would add maybe another two minutes but with the lo...

Re: 230, 232 and 232R route and timetable change

As a local resident and frequent user of the 230/232 I have taken a keen interest in this whole process, the info that came from the Regency to Pym project said that 4 options were considered for the route change after a desktop planning study by SAPTA. High frequency along Regency, South and Torren...

Re: 230, 232 and 232R route and timetable change

Would be good if they could put some signs up at the stops to tell passengers that their stops will be removed. Just over a week to go and nothing yet along Harrison Rd. I went to a R2P info session last year so have been aware of what was planned but expect many people would have only become aware ...

Re: Adelaide Metro. Empty Buses Everywhere!

All I see, during my essential outings from home, are empty or nearly empty buses and trains traveling along. Surely it is well time that the whole train, tram and bus system is heavily pruned. A truly skeleton operation at this time would save unnecessary costs, at a time when state funds are need...

Old Adelaide Timetables

I have recently come across some old Adelaide timetables and a Metroguide.
The timetables are from 1988/1989 through to 1996 and the Metroguide is from 2004.
Just wondering if these are likely to be of any value? worth holding on to? selling? or putting in the recycling.
Cheers
