Re: Private Operator Observations - January 2014

5711MO & 5712MO are definitely Kiama Coaches, one is in Kiama livery, the other is still white.

Re: Private Operator Observations - December 2013

Gerringong buses have a Premier Motor Service coach parked in the depot this morning. Possibly for a large charter or an addition to the fleet?

Re: Private Operator Observations - December 2013

Two new white BCIs seen travelling towards Kiama, I'd imagine they are the two that Kiama coaches have ordered. Regos 5711MO and 5712MO, according to the NSW Rego app they were registered yesterday. Quite likely as Kiama recieved the BCI's this week. Confirmation that they are 5711 MO & 5712 MO...

Been without analog available for about a year now, only time we've missed it is in the crappy weather when ABC won't work. At least with analogue you had a picture and some sound as opposed to nothing at all.

What about a cars fleet list? I seem to have about 6 cars floating around my yard at the moment, feel free to catalogue those.

Re: What makes you happy today?

Downloaded the new Euro Truck Simulator which has a much better shifting system along with much better physics. Taking off requires the use of a clutch and it now has the option for a road ranger like splitter gearbox. Needless to say I've stalled a number of times and god knows what damage would ha...

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

Well the frequency on the south coast line south of Oak Flats has decreased slightly, last year they only did around 7 weeks of track work, the year before it was 9 and that doesn't include the week it was shut due to emergency repairs where a truck crashed into a bridge.

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

Trackwork, it used to be fine, even with 9 weeks a year of it but now it's getting out of hand. I mean, how much can they do to the same 3km stretch of track? They've ripped it up and laid it back down at least 5 times since this time last year. They're working with noisy equipment well into the nig...

Re: What makes you happy today?

^^ This. I couldn't put up with them. Also, my local bus depot just appeared to up and leave in a convoy this morning, admittedly they only have about 7 buses but still was interesting as they usually only have 3 or 4 on the road at any one time. Didn't think they had that many drivers. Stolen perha...

The steering rack in my subaru outback appears to be buggered, I need a new idle air intake sensor and to find what causing it to be so rough when coming off the accelerator.

Seeing a brand new MAN CB80 still on trade plates with no livery on the way home yesterday, would have grabbed a photo but I was driving.

Re: What makes you happy today?

My favourite 24.420 14.5m MAN is to be doing my route every afternoon for the rest of the year. Win.

On the down side, the only reason it is is because they merged 3 runs and it's the only bus that'll be big enough to carry that many people.

Re: Elevated Bike lanes

When I read the title I expected to see something along the lines of a piece of concrete sitting 200mm higher than the road, wasting space and preventing the people who pay to use the road from using it.

All of them, i'm not really a fan of any. McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks, etc are only consumed when there is no bakery, take away or pizza shop around. I'll have Subway occasionally.

Yeah, in NSW they have to have a sign warning you about them, so I doubt it's a speed camera.

The fact 8th is not used, even when doing near 100 and try doing that around Gerringong/ Kiama, it doesn't work too bad on the downward slopes but on the small hills it is horrible.

Also, it's the fact they do that in a 50 zone where 7th is a little unnecessary.

I'm thinking ...

Personally I don't have a huge problem with these said trucks on a car license, but what I do have a problem with is the light buses that are allowed to be driven on a car license. Inexperienced drivers, taking on roads a regular driver would avoid and forgetting the size of the vehicle often ends i...
