Re: Delivery of new trams for Inner West Light Rail Extensio

I've been told the 4th and last unit of the leased trams will be delivered in the next few days. Anyone have any idea who's tram this is and what type of tram it is?

Re: New Bt b7rle optimus

It's a shame that these don't have the larger steering wheels as fitted to all Perth units!! Anecdotally I've never encountered a driver who didn't like the smaller wheel that comes with Volvos. Especially B12 drivers. I absolutely can't stand the size of the wheel in the B12's. The B10's had a per...

Re: Delivery of new trams for Inner West Light Rail Extensio

I have a feeling if what is said is true and the used trams are being delivered first, then these will be pressed into service whilst the vario trams are being re-furbished ready for day one of central to dulwich hill. I am pretty certain they are going to need more than 10 trams to run the entire l...

Re: What your guys ideas on a second sydney airport??

Yeah cause it will be so much quicker to get to Sydney from the west on Sydney's clunky trains... -_- There could be a devoted set of stock for running CBD to the airport??? One memory I have of Frankfurt was hopping on a slightly different train for the ride into town and passing through many many...

I thought it was 3rd (hydraulic) and reverse?? You may be right. I might be thinking of the dummy ECU as I have used it a few times to get bus back then plugged the SLG tester (same as ZF Mobidig Diagnostic tool, but for Merc box) and it has shown 2nd gear. Thought so as they will still do 80 in li...

Re: What your guys ideas on a second sydney airport??

If you don't get the HSR then that's their stupid fault. THe HSR will compliment the airport and will be used just as much as a slow bus service from badgeries creek would be, or he'll, tullamarine is! Probably find it will be quicker from Canberra to Sydney than from badgeries. Not to mention the ...

Re: SCANIA/MERCEDES BENZ

270 and 310 are Euro 4 compliant and thus were discontinued. The 230 had also been discontinued and replaced with the 280, 320 or 360 for city bus application. Traditionally in Australia, I would gather that K280UB, K320UA, K320UB and K360UA (possibly K360UB) are available and that on request or as...

Re: STA Observations - May 2013

Maybe a obsessive-compulsive transfer disorder. :? But AEC Decker has heard it is Transport For NSW that has the strict depot by depot average age disorder. That is correct. Each depot is supposed to have an average fleet age of 12 years or less and no bus over 25 years old. TFNSW also stip...

When a particular gear is selected does the transmission lock into that gear? Ie currently on mo3145 and feels like the transmission is stuck in 2nd. Its slow to take off and revving its tits off at 50-60km/h No. Should take off in 1st unless in limp home mode, which only allows 2nd and reverse Unl...

R has been forced to allocate BLUE and WHITE artics on M50 's, due to the large number of defective Ex T RED Metrobuses . Perhaps 333 can become Metrobus M33 instead. Hence why Cabrera will be a good option. Not to mention Canberra want the business also. It's estimated the trip from Sydney to Canberra will only take 64 mins by HSR. I thought canberra don't want to become sydney second airport.. and i'm pretty neutral on it, since not everybody will get the HSR,...

I, for one, rather like doing some of m's work. Nicer passengers, mostly workers, polite and they line up so much better than the scrum at most of y's stops. Even when covering the very early am 88/90s a nicer class of drunk. I wonder what the m drivers will think of the 545 ? The M drivers will ne...

Re: What your guys ideas on a second sydney airport??

It should most definitely be high speed rail to Canberra and the use of their airport. But high speed rio should run from Brisbane to Melbourne via Sydney to also assist one of the busiest air routes in the world. Sydney - Melbourne. It's the smart thing to do as all these things work hand in hand. ...

Firstly: Mr. Voith, I did not write the comment regarding not liking the ZF Option in the Volvo's. I actually much prefer it for it's smoothness and consistency... I recall Stoney mentioning something about them not revving very hard on the kickdown. Our Diesel units here in Perth rev to 2000rpm on kickdown without any hesitation. Even the Ecolife ones haul up there pretty quickly. Yours have a different program as well, which would contribute to the lack of ...
