Re: What makes you happy today?

The fan clutch was replaced on mine several years ago emitting a nice sounding roar. Next time it wears out though, I'll be fitting thermo fans as the viscous fan saps performance. The EL thermo fan assembly bolts in neatly without having to do away with the top half of the shroud, allowing you to p...

35 and under would be sweet. Just keep as far away as possible from that 40 minute threshold. Looks bad any way you look at it.
That's a running time you'd expect out near Lapa.

Re: Use of Back Door on Buses

There's absolutely nothing wrong with back/centre door entry, it's just that drivers here have been brainwashed into viewing it as the ultimate sin. They've got a good array of mirrors together with cctv cameras nowadays. Now with contactless payments, they can devote more concentration on monitorin...

Re: What makes you happy today?

It was that good I wished to this day I had somehow recorded it. It made a dog whistle like sound as it was revving, like a turbo but I know it wasn't. It must have been something to do with the induction?? It made the engine sound high tech. The cabbie was abusing it which the owner wouldn't have b...

It is great we now have a factory in Sydney that can make four million a month. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qurzvljzM-Q
Only for Chinese to grab them and spirit them out of the country.

Re: What makes you happy today?

Is that a deep burgundy grape colour? I've seen another like that. By far the best metallic colour on that model, though I'm happy with my MP white one. Would love a six cylinder in that colour though, preferably the Sportsman edition with the Tickford enhanced motor. Yes it's Bordeaux a wine color...

There's something to be said for a full chassis.

And something to be said for unibody buses.

Re: In-Situ Heritage Whipple Trusses near Sydney Trains Lewisham Railway Station

Nice freeze framing. I always wondered about that. I just figured it was part of a former bridge that they didn't bother to remove, like the old piers of the former Hawkesbury River Railway bridge and the John Whitton bridge at Meadowbank.

Re: Ex Renmarks Bus Service Isuzu PMCSA

I've always liked this body for some reason. Pioneer must have shopped for the cheapest chassis available when they got this built for them. Awful to drive I'm sure, but has Japanese reliability which is all the company probably cared about.

1972. That's very late for a bull nose loco. Is this primer awaiting a livery or is this it's finished look? It certainly displays it's shape well without ornate patterns all over the place but I hope this isn't a trend.

Lucky strike ScaniaGrenda. Indeed a significant member of the fleet having undergone the extra bracing on the front most side passenger window panes the rest would follow. You'd think it could have been figured out locally though, it's not rocket science. They must have been hoping the Germans would...

Re: Does this make my car a bus?

I welded a nut onto this stainless steel bracket so it's a simple case of screwing the device on with the aid of a spring washer to keep the hubbo from working itself off. IMG_20200710_162633-1000x564.jpg Well that's a good idea. I can stick on any of my 30 or so depending on my mood and can quickl...

Are they that hard up for charter buses that they'd install jet air conditioning to this 3rd world wagon?

Try doing some research.

THe aircon was fitted whilst still in service in SA as a school bus.
That makes more sense then!

Try telling that to Australians. They won't forgo their pleasures just like Americans, whereas other nationalities age prepared to survive. Our self indulgent natures will be our undoing and Asian countries know it.
