One I've thought of this morning. Now that Torrens run both 228 and J1 if 228 was to deviate via the Lyell McEwin and times adjusted they'll have a Go Zone beteeen Elizabeth East and Salisbury Heights
The J1 doesn’t service all stops so that would have to change for it to be a Go Zone.

I think I have asked this before but I forgot. If "T" stands for Transit Link then what does F stand for?
The F stands for Fast, it has different stopping arrangements to make the trip faster for outer suburbs residents as The Phonj said.

Re: Knoll faces Liberal Party revolt on bus cuts

The 222 should go back to its original route running between City and Gepps Cross with F buses running pick up only until Stop 25 on the outbound and set down only after Stop 25 on the inbound. The 224/224F should revert to running along Port Wakefield Road then Salisbury Highway, 225/225F running ...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals

If so why does it still appear on Southlink's website as Elizabeth? SouthLink never update things. The 560 timetable still shows it turns right from Playford Bvd to Philip Hwy - that route was changed probably 8-10 years ago. How long have they had the 222 desto sign that the route number jumps fro...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals

Edinburgh Depot fleet and drivers will go to Elizabeth Depot.( to operate J1,500,502). There has been no such thing as "Elizabeth Depot" for several years, since that part of the suburb of Elizabeth West was renamed to Edinburgh North. The depot, for the last few years, has been called "Edinburgh N...

Re: Question: Does varying from the published route where there are no stops really matter?

The 222 and other Main North Road buses has the published route on the timetable heading North from Stop 6 O'Connell Street as being along Prospect Road, then turn right on to Fitzroy Terrace, then left on to Main North Road to Stop 7 Medindie. At the moment roadworks on Prospect Road through the p...

Re: [May/June 2019] SA Transport observations

Last night on the news they said it was likely an electrical fault that caused the blaze. Some video footage showed the front of the bus burning but not the back of the bus (initially), so maybe it was somewhere around the computer at the front of the bus where it ignited? Doesn't look like it was a...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals

Great work, coverage looks good! Only one minor criticism is with route 566, and not just your proposal, but current as well. It is such a windy route and takes too long to get from end to end. Sure, there are plenty of catchment areas along the way, but to get from Golden Grove to Mawson Lakes, it ...

Re: Torrens Transit Bustechs.

The wheelbase on the Scania engines with Custom bodies is quite short and they can manouevre well. The Bustechs are a metre longer and have a longer wheelbase, so they don't have such a good turning circle.

Re: Torrens Transit Bustechs.

At the end of the day, you won't see as much of the livery once advertising is introduced. These buses look good and are fast and smooth on the road, but they don't have a great turning circle. Some of the tighter turns are difficult or impossible with these buses. I've seen a few 3-point turns alre...

Re: [Mar/Apr 2020] SA Transport observations

The J1 mention on AdMet website is actually a link to the J1 timetable which includes J1, J1A, J1G, J2 and J2G. That's all good and well for those that click the link. Those that just read the information should be informed that the J2 is just as good an option from the city to the airport as the J...

But the dedicated driver is still working a shift obviously? Say, one might work 6am to 2pm with a break somewhere in the middle?

I'm pretty sure the government would be working through all of those things. Just because we don't know their plans, doesn't mean there aren't any plans.

I thought it may have been my imagination that Belair trains don't seem to be running on time as much lately, but checking the on time running report on the Adelaide Metro website, the Belair line has been operating around only 70-75% on time running for the last few weeks, whereas the other lines a...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals

Maybe the government doesn't realise it can't get it wants for a 'cheap' price that it's after! The last thing you want is some of the companies then deciding they don't want to run at next to no profit, or break even, or at a loss, and they pull out of the race, leaving fewer companies to choose fr...

Re: Replacing alphabetical prefixes

N is necessary: your example N178 and 178 have slightly different city stops, as do several other N services. (eg 502 and N502, 262 and N262). This is because of the defined safety area in the city (I think they’re called Home Zone stops now). The N178 has one different city stop by approx. 40m, an...

Re: Replacing alphabetical prefixes

Of course N buses for after midnight are okay as it’s a designated service like AO buses. You could also argue the N is unnecessary in some instances. Sure, if the route is a little different to the regular route, such as N224, N262 & N721, then you do need to letter. For routes such as N178, N22, ...

Yesterday I saw O-Bahn bus 1140 broken down at Nelson Road, Para Vista. It looked as though it may have overheated or had an oil leak but I didn’t get a close look. Hoping it’s nothing serious after that bus had a fire a few years back. 1140 is already back in service, I saw it on a 506 from the ci...
