That would be the World Masters Games, held in Brisbane in 1994.
Either that or the Lions Convention, i'm leaning more for the Lions convention actually come to think of it.

Re: Older BCC Buses

It was going to be preserved, however when all the QOCS buses had to go from the Rochedale site (graveyard for some), this one was that was deemed too far gone.

Whilst I think its a very ugly bus, I do agree that more should've been done to preserve it due to it's uniqueness.

Yes, that is the new logo. It is currently on low-floors #5, 15, 29 & 35 and the Rosa #57 & the van which is used for both driver change overs & rail replacement communications vehicle #82 (not with GJT plates though). And #29 & 35 are replacements for two Leyland Tigers recently out of service last...

Re: Older BCC Buses

The front of no 10 was one really ugly bus. Sorta reminds me of that Bustech built demo that's about to be released (# 1598). It too has a front on it that looks like a half sucked melon.

But nice to see the older buses being displayed.

Re: Brisbane Transport - Observations September 2012

I'm not entirely sure how many more B7's are turning up. I generally enter the next 10 or so into the database as the last one enters service. I've just put in the db up to 2029 to cover it for the time being, so that way people can still use the online advisory tool for updates for me to authorise ...

Re: Ferny Grove Line 15mins Frequency

My source is from someone within QR (not going to list who or from their dpt) with first hand knowledge of costings of services. Whether this amount included staffed stations or just the train, guard & driver, I don't know.

Re: Ferny Grove Line 15mins Frequency

One train set (not sure if doubled up or just a 3 car unit) that goes from Ferny Grove to Beeneleigh then to Bowen Hills costs $2800 roughly. That's only one service, I wonder how much more it would cost to increase services on all lines to every 15min where it currently doesn't have one, and whethe...

Re: Brisbane's Trolleybuses

Out of curiosity for the generation that do know, in picture #4 where there are two trolley buses, how (if possible) would the one from behind get in front of the other if the one originally in front was broken down or the one behind was running late from its previous trip?

Re: Volvo B10L 554 in Corporate Livery

Agree with the LED desto, gives the public a brief sense they are about to get on a brand new bus (until they step inside). But from my observation of 556 when I saw it doing Suncorp shuttles last night, the paint work make the bus appear abit smaller than they really are. Could just be my eyes play...

Very appealing, nicely done and best of all, its about the best thing they called do to a lemon (sorry, mean B10L).

The 'Dot grafix' that Cordes Express means 'one-way vision', expensive as all hell.

I remember Mr Lucas said (whenthe Northern busway started being built,) Once completed it would only take 15 min to Chermside. It's never going to happen using the Northern Busway because of the RBWH-Lutwyche section still using Lutwyche Rd. However maybe Chermside could be reached in 15 minutes us...

I was informed last night of the following that my contact could remember: 330 - converted to a BUZ 335 - terminus extended, unsure where though 358 - extended to the Airport, unsure whether a terminal or DFO due to the anal-retentive agreement about BT going and servicing the terminals quite some y...
