Re: Transdev Melbourne news January - June 2015

I haven't seen #369 in awhile. Not sure if it's off the road for any reason or if it has been returned to Footscray. #369 is still yet to be returned to Footscray. As for ex MBL buses and Red Oribital, in the first few months after Transdev had taken over, some did make it on to the Red Orbiral but...

TramTracker has revealed that E Class Tram 6002 is on Route 75 today. I believe this would be the first time an E Class Tram has been used on a normal service outside Route 96. I would gladly include a Screen Shot but am unable to do so because of the image being too large.

Re: Melbourne Bus Tracking System Scrapped!

While I can understand that it could be "ageing technology", one must ask what is actually ageing in this technology and why kill it now, when so close to completion? It sounds like it comes back to the dollars involved. :x And it was my understanding that the bus tracking system was meant...

Re: Victorian Rail & Tram Observations July - December 2013

Outbound services on the Frankston Line are currently using Platform 3 between Glenhuntly and Moorabbin instead of Platform 2. Reasons why are unknown at this point, and at time of posting no message had been posted on the Metro website. There was something this afternoon on 3AW, a caller said, the...

Re: A day around Melbourne 26/9/13

As someone who has transited Elsternwick on dozens of occasions over the last 4 years, I think it's fair to say the feral youths have been there for years for some years, some of whom are now more than 18 years old, the legal adult age for Australia. I think what you will find is that many of them a...

Re: Artist's impression of new Southland Station

Wasn't too far out: "A new railway station at Southland shopping centre is likely to have few of the amenities voters were promised at the last state election, because the Coalition grossly underestimated the project's cost and is now looking to build it as cheaply as possible. The planned sta...

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news July - December 2013

I'm surprised this hasn't yet been reported here, but none the less...... Ventura Buses 1025, 1026 and 1027 have all entered service. All three are Volvo B7RLES with the Volgren CR228L bodies. While 1025 and 1026 are permanently based out of Oakleigh, 1027 is based at Knox, however yesterday it was ...

Metro's IEV100 is lurking down along the Frankston Line tonight. It was sighted cruising "overtaking" my down Frankston service between Mckinnon and Bentleigh at approximately 10:30pm. I anticipate it should be back on the Up at some stage later tonight.

It was sighted just after 1700 (5:00PM) at Flinders Street heading to Platform 12. And secondly: To the tram gunzel...

R711 was used on some Saturday trains; after a catastrophic failure in 2001 it was no longer used. I may be wrong, but I think that it is owned by the City of Greater Bendigo, having been retrieved from the park opposite Bendigo Station. I find it hard to believe that R711 suffered a catastrophic f...
