Re: Recommendations for survey on bus priority lanes

Bus priority lights are purley smoke and mirrors. They're on a cycle, not a switch, they are usually last in the cycle as well. In the northern suburbs they are pretty useless and poorly managed. Reality is, pax and drivers think they are getting priority when they're actually being halted. There is...

In other words 'dex', cave in to management, which is interested only in its own convenience. The fare structure is good, the ticketing and payment aspects are abysmal. Re: Airconditioning temperatures

Set at 22 degrees, usually all the time, I'm not paying for the running costs and it keeps most people happy. Sometimes I will run it at 25 in summer, it doesn't work the air con as hard and if it gets close to 25 on a 40 degree day, you've won by miles. It might seem crazy...but tit works. It also ...

That would be the panel damage and lack of cleanliness that make them look ordinary.

White is a very corporate colour, like silver and black.
It is also easier to keep clean ,sounds weird but have a look at a white car, then a dark car.

It was brought up in the mid 90s, out through Mickleham road, then out via Westmeadows/Attwood/Alanbrae.
The Alanbrae estate was new at the time and the residents opposed it, boom, gone.

Re: 901 at Roxburgh Park

Not related but out of curiosity do you get many problems with the 479? The only trouble we've had was usually the 500, Broady to Sunbury, a run I dubbed 'The loser cruiser'. I should preface that and say I actually live in Broadmeadows. The 479 and 500 had the dubious honour of it's hardened Sunbu...

CCTV on buses and the audio is quite good. I know from viewing a lot of footage at work, part of being an Operations Supervisor. That said, once it's downloaded and the authorities have it, it's really up to them and the courts, usually the police are keen to pursue but nothing generally comes of it...

You mean Broadmeadows North or Craigieburn South? Paul, as someone who frequented Roxy station as a driver on the 484 quite often, the safest thing to do if you are a driver is to shut your mouth and drive the bus. Many drivers, particularly 901 drivers learnt this after numerous assaults, numerous ...

Pffftt....charts and stats.. Sunbury line never gets checked, a lot like Broadmeadows and surrounding suburbs, most of the time inspectors refuse to go out that way. Fare evasion is massive in the northern suburbs, but fear and recurring assaults keeps the inspectors away. Stats also take into accou...

The beauty of the eastern suburbs. It's a bit unfair to tarnish the whole of the Eastern Suburbs. The problem for the 901 route is that given it travels through Frankston, Dandenong, Ringwood, Greensborough, Roxburgh Park and Broadmeadows, it is basically a "Contiki tour" of all of ...

Re: Blood-covered fighting men terrify bus passengers

Happens a fair bit over our way, 484 has had it's fair share of punch ups on the bus, there is a home for old men in Greenvale, they generally travel to and from the pub and end up punching on in the bus, usually ends in a bloody mess or an ambulance called.
