Re: Bus Observations 2024.
All the low floor buses seem to crash at the slightest obstacle on the roads. Anzac Pde was resurfaced alongside the tram lines, and still the ride is annoying, more noticeable after riding on the trams.

Re: Western Sydney Airport (WSA) Rapid Bus Routes - Campbelltown, Liverpool and Penrith
The business case for the WSA metro states that it would only have 880 passengers per hour in the peak direction in the early years. With 15tph, that equates to around 60 passengers per train or 20 passengers per carriage in a 3 car train. It's no wonder that the focus has now been changed to exten...

Was in Parramatta today, and thought I'd catch the ferry back to the city. The wharf is closed for repairs, but the shuttle bus to Rydalmere is operating. At around 13:30, I was the only passenger on the bus.

Re: Western Sydney Airport (WSA) Rapid Bus Routes - Campbelltown, Liverpool and Penrith
I doubt the buses would be running non-stop between stations and the airport, there is plenty of potential passenger catchment along the routes, who might prefer not to have to go to stations. As most of the routes start near bus depots, there would seem to be ample opportunity to recharge during th...

The current timetable shows weekdays 3x AM and 1x PM up SCO services terminating at Martin Place.
I couldn't see any up BJI services terminating at Central. Perhaps this gets used during T4 shutdowns?

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
Crossovers at Central would give passengers from the north a better chance of getting into the city to connect with other services, if there are problems further south. Likewise, they would allow services from the south to terminate if there are problems within the CBD zone. I would have thought fle...

I thought this YouTube short was the Rozelle Interchange for a few seconds. Was it based off this roadway in America? https://youtube.com/shorts/chDy1600l2Q?si=qJ7L_Li_kV8AViji That sort of behaviour can be found on any road in Sydney. So many drivers have no lane sense, or "forward planning&q...

“normal control” is where the driver is behind the engine and front axle.
Presumably you mean “Forward control” where the driver is beside or in front of the engine.
“Half cab” is a body design for forward control whereby access to the engine is outside the vehicle.

I can recall from years back there was a requirement that passengers had to wear at least a singlet or equivalent. I’ve seen people denied boarding buses without it.

Re: Canberra light rail: Development applications approved in 'b
Canberra doesn't have much choice in deciding between bus and LR, so far there are no direct competing services.
The bus market in other states is much higher than in WA. Multiple suppliers spreads the load and keeps prices competitive.
