Re: Private Bus Observations 2020

Made an interesting observation going through the Fleetlists, so here's a quick quiz. Up until now Moores Tours has had the most Denning Deckers in it's fleet with 6. But another operator has now overtaken them with a total of 8 Denning Landseer deckers - although their latest additions not yet regi...

Waiting to see the replacement Denning body style (similar to the Phoenix from what's beem said). I assume that's still the plan.

Locomotive CLP12 'Casper'

It appears that the 'all white livery' virus hasn't only afflicted coaches and buses, but now also locomotives. Spotted stopped outside Katoomba today on its journey east was locomotive CLP12 displaying its new pale look. Built by Clyde Engineering for the Commonwealth Railways in the early '70's th...

Hunter Valley Coaches, Rover Motors and SMR.......there's some nostalgia. 'Chunky' probably aptly describes a lot of the buses in those two fleets at the time as well.

Sad news indeed. While I never met the man we had quite a few private message exchanges through this board over the years. He certainly had a knowledge of Blue Mountains operations past and present and freely shared some of that with me, and was very supportive. I enjoyed giving it to him about that...

Thanks for posting. Glad to see over the last year or so KST have been tidying up their appearance and almost have a generic livery. Has certainly been a mishmash in the past.

Thanks for posting. I love the Out of School Hours acronyms that appear. In this case CPOOSH probably doesn't fit, in the Blue Mountains we have BOOSH (Blackheath) and KOOSH (Katoomba), MMOOSH (Mid Mountains) etc.

Shearings (UK) has ceased trading.

I read that the Specialist Leisure Group Ltd in the UK, parent of brands such as Shearings and Wallace Arnold Travel, has ceased trading and has gone into administration as of 22 May 2020. A few years back Shearings was Europe's largest coach tour operator with over 200 coaches in operation, I'm not...

In the absence of a 'thank you' notification option on the new set up, I'll say thanks ScaniaGranda for sharing these images. Not somewhere I get up to very often, so have enjoyed seeing what's 'in stock' around the property. Do you know if the Hino BD190 P&D ever saw service in the Hunter or was re...

Hi Lalken and welcome to this discussion board. Other than the photo's I posted back in June 2013 on here of the Austin Sheerline, I'm not familiar with their ambulance bodies. My interest however has been William Stanleys bus bodies, a number of which found their way to tour operators at Katoomba (...

With the advertising you can't see in to tell how under used some of these services are.

Blue Mountains postcard......at a safe distance.

Despite no tourists or coaches coming through the Blue Mountains for a few months now due to COVID19 restrictions, it's still been possible to find some subject matter of interest. Both Scenic World and Echo Point have been closed, but this hasn't stopped the local contracted buses still running to ...

Thank you both for that info. Have given it a trial run and seems to work. Will spend more time with it later. Certainly a lot of helpful information and images stored there. Is there a WA fleets listing available anywhere

While this board has a very good Perth bus fleet listing and up to date, is there a listing available anywhere for the rest of WA. For example I'd be interested to see what Adams fleet looks like, and the many other charter operators in Perth and across the State. The BCSV 'Bus Panorama' does a good...

He is now the third longest serving Transport Minister in modern times (30 years) - I don't think he'll eclipse Carl Scully. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minister_for_Transport_and_Roads_(New_South_Wales) I remember Milton Morris as Transport Minister under a number of Liberal State Premiers.
