Re: Bus Driver worksheet

Sainsbury Rd was used for driver relief (my memory's a little fuzzy) on either the 146 or 147 which was re-routed along it some time in 1997 or 1998. The driver would walk down the main driveway and wait for their bus at the bus stop out the front. Certainly was. At night, we’d drive in and change ...

It’s the one time when being fat works well for me. Put the base on the ground, get over the top of it and start to roll it down the sides. Pre rolled is a dream!

Re: starting issues - MAN SL200

Adelaide had a very meticulous way of wiring. If you can come across a body wiring diagram, hold on to it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I have wiring data plus all repairs data of motors ( MAN ) from Germany factory not available in Australia Guy Arab I'm thinking not so much the chassis/motor ...

Re: Successes in NSW Transport Policy

By far the biggest success is the tendered bus contract system. As much as I don't like certain aspects, and they don't have it entirely right, it is the best thing for Sydney. Now they just need to finish the job they started.

Re: Tachograph question

I've got a Coaster with 712,000km on the odometer and 708,000 on the tachograph. I imagine you'd only need a small indiscrepancy over those sorts of kilometres to get a difference like that. I'd be going with the tachograph. It's the recording device and I reckon more likely to be referred to by the...

Re: Tag axle Registration ??

You're going to have to have it reinspected when it's done, so is there any reason for keeping it registered? If you need to move it while its being done, surely you'd be better off paying for individual permits.

Looks like a Smithfield bodied Albion Viking. If you can get a chassis or body number, someone here will be able to accurately identify it.

Re: Tv Plate Question

I love plates, and spent a lot of time with a previous employer shuffling 3 digit Western Australian TC plates around only to have them swept out and replaced with CVL (Charter Vehicle Licence) plates. And they're not compulsory!

Re: Toyota Coaster or Mitsubishi Rosa?

They're not too bad, Boronia. I've got one at the moment that's been pretty mistreated and will want a rebuild in the next 12 months. It's still much, much quicker than a 1HZ Coaster.

Re: Transport Minister - Split from Opal Card

Considering all the vested interests in NSW, I'm grateful the Libs actually finished the job that Labor started. They could have ditched it all quite easily in a Kennett style sell off. Sydney's transport is about more than the STA and trains.

Re: Insurance for small private bus company

This probably isn't the best forum to get decent answers about running buses to make money. Research the bus proprietors associations in your state and have a chat with them. I'm insured with one of those mentioned and have had no trouble at all.

Re: Toyota Coaster or Mitsubishi Rosa?

The Coaster is a much tougher bus than the Rosa, and yes, parts availability can be a problem for Rosas too. Toyota dropped the ball when the Rosa was released in 2000. The three extra seats were an instant winner (although very cramped). The Rosa 4 cyl engine goes really well. Be careful of the ear...
